[5E] A Touch of Class: 7 New Classes for 5th Edition
by Garin J.
Publisher: EN Publishing
Date Added: 12/03/2018 15:16:20
[5E] A Touch of Class: 7 New Classes for 5th Edition Brand new, original and fully developed classes that will make the other players at your table jealous. These are balanced options that feel completely different from everything else out there. Sure, WOTC put out an Alchemist in Unearthed Arcana, but this version is better and has more variety. I have the print copy and love this book.

The Demonplague I received both the hard and soft covers for this book, and the quality for the print product is excellent. The font is large enough for my aging eyes and the B&W graphics are excellent. Lots of combat maps to play on, plenty of charts to generate a sandboxish hexploration campaign make this book an excellent campaign to run. Even the railroad and the megadungeon were of excellent quality, making them easy to read and to run. Having backed the kickstarter, I also received the digital assets, and these, being the same as the print product were excellent. The only thing I could ask for from this already peerless product are VTT icons in jpg or png format for the custom monsters, but that is it. I cannot recommend the Demonplague enough....

Resolute, Adventurer & Genius Base on the Warrior, Rogue & Mage ruleset, this is a well done translation of those elegant and simple rules, to the pulp genre. Honestly these are the most admirably elegant rules I have found. Classless & Leveless. Reading this left me wondering why roleplaying ever had to be so difficult to learn. The adaptation to pulp is well done, and leaves plenty of room for the story to be a bigger part of the game, than the rules. As nostalgic as an OSR. Simpler than a Hack. You'll love this game....

Storm Bunny Studios: A Catalog of Ideas I'm a fan of Mists of Akuma and was told to check out Storm Bunny Studios offerings. Downloaded the free catalog --- nice format! Reminds me of the glossy catalog pages they used to include with boardgames (Axis and Allies era!). Didn't know they had other settings -- definitely looking into!

The Demonplague I just received my hot-of-the-presses copy of The Demonplague. It's awesome! I've been boasting to all of my buddies about how cool it is and showing them how efficient Johnn's character/plot driven campaign planning approach is. It's something I'm trying to do with my current Rise of the Runelords campaign which is tricky because it's very linear. Having said that, it can be done and it really (really) makes the game so much more rich for everyone involved. More and more I'm spending less time planning and giving more agency to the players. ...

The Demonplague John and James totally deliver in this amazing hardcover. A timer that advances the plot behind the scenes, in-depth motivations for NPCs and BBGs, awesome artwork and a coherent theme really bring this adventure together.

FREE Solar Echoes Demo, Operation: Flash Strike

FREE Solar Echoes Demo, Operation: Flash Strike Disclaimer: I am a friend of the designer and watched this game evolve from its earliest phases. That said, this product was created based on the input from a variety of RPG gamers, so a wide range of people were involved. The end result came about from years of playtesting and demoing the game in an effort to understand how to teach a new RPG system to gamers while still keeping it interesting and fun. It is not an easy task. People learn through different methods, and it is a challenge to strike a balance between properly explaining the game's rules while at the same time not burying the new players under new words, rules, and even lore all at once. In the end, I'm very impressed with this product. The mission is straightforward in a good way, the rules are clearly explained, and all the extra touches, from pre-gen characters to color maps, really add to the experience. This demo kit has been used "in the field" to demo the game to RPG players at various conventions and local even...

Equinox Setting Guide (English)

Equinox Setting Guide (English) I find it hard to articulate my thoughts on any piece of media, thus I don't write reviews like or don't like aren't really helpful to other people. I'm 29 now and had been waiting for this game since I was in my mid to late before it was called Equinox, when I first learned about the game it was referred to as the Eight World! Back in my teens hanging out in Shadowrun centric corners of the Internet I learned of a planned sequel game to Shadowrun set in the far future, a science-fantasy space opera set in he Eight World. **Side Note**: The fantasy prequel setting of EarthDawn is the Fourth World, the earth from 10,000 BC to 2010 AD was the Fifth World, Shadowrun is the Sixth World, and Space Opera setting was to be the Eigth World roughly 10,000 AD. I was hooked, Shadowrun is one of my favorite settings space opera is my favorite genre so a space opera sequel is 100% my jam. But...the game never came out, years went by I'd scour the net and found nothing new about t...

Advanced Adventures #15: Stonesky Delve

Advanced Adventures #15: Stonesky Delve An Endzeitgeist.com review This installment of the Advanced Adventures series clocks in at 25 pages, 1 page front/back cover, 1 page editorial/ToC, 1 page advertisement, 1 page SRD, leaving us with 21 pages of content, so let’s take a look! This review was requested by my patreons, to be undertaken at my convenience. Okay, first of all, this is, as all Advanced Adventures-modules, written for the OSRIC system, but conversions to other OSR-systems are easy enough. The formatting deviates in some aspects from OSRIC’s formatting conversions. This module is intended for characters level 4 – 7, though it should be noted that it requires a smart and well-rounded group to excel – this is old-school in that PCs not smart enough to run in some instances, will indeed die. Horribly, I might add. The pdf does not sport read-aloud text beyond the brief introductory prose, which means that this needs to be properly prepared. There is another special thing to note here: “Stonesky De...

Languard Locations: Beyond the Walls An Endzeitgeist.com review This installment of the Languard Locations-series clocks in at 16 pages, 1 page front cover, 2 pages of advertisement, 1 page editorial/ToC, 1 page SRD, 1 page back cover, leaving us with 10 pages of content, so let’s take a look! Well, first things first: This pdf does contain a list of author biographies in the back that spans 1.5 pages – and this is a damn good thing as far as I’m concerned. Freelancers have it tough, and such sections help generate name recognition, so kudos for that! And yes, locations are noted by designers. A handy list of the locations with brief descriptions is also provided on the final 0.5 page before the author bios – and it makes sense that it’s here. Anyhow, we do begin this pdf is a slightly different manner: On the first page, we discuss the surrounding lands of the city of Languard – the plains, hills and sea are all described in details here, allowing you to get a feel for the vicinity. Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay Fourth Edition Rulebook The good: Cudos to C7 for going back to the original setting from 1st ed and for the great artwork. The bad: An overly complicated and poorly explained edition of WFRP. I wish 4th ed could have been a modern take on Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay that could have included many of the great things in roleplay that has developed since the beginning of this millenium. Instead this comes across as an even more complicated oldschool version of WFRP with very little guidance in the book as to how the rules should work in play. Who should buy: Fans that must have everyhing WFRP related or those who like to tinker with houseruling of WFRP. Who should not buy: People new to roleplay or those looking for a modern roleplay system....
