My original box of this went missing years ago and to be able to get it again in print is AWESOME! The scans are super clear.

Castle Forlorn is by far one of my favourite expansions to the Ravenloft setting. It is packed full of memorable NPCs and lots of adventures to send your players on.

One of the best fantasy adventure boxed sets in D&D. The realm is well fleshed out with compelling NPC backstories. You could run a campaign from this product. The big villain is unique and interesting. The final castle is huge and has an interesting twist.

I bought the print version, and I'm very, very happy with how it turned out. The quality of the print is as good as my Ravenloft Campaign Setting original set, I can't tell the difference between the inside pictures on either of them. Print is very clear and readable.

Having everything in one big book is kind of nice, too. I'm pleased at how easy it is to have everything right where you could want it.

There are only two downsides. Number 1, is that I would always prefer to buy these items in hardcover. Whenever possible, I try to get hardcover versions. Softcover is alright, but there is nothing that can replace hardcover.

The second is that the maps are very tiny in the back. They are readable, but they aren't anything like what you get in the real set. It would be incredible if it could be done to get the maps as fold outs, or purchaseable separately as full size maps.

Other than that, wonderful purchase. I high reccommend getting these print on demand versions.

I owned the original box set years ago and lost it in a move. I hadn't seen Castles Forlorn in years until I noticed it was up here for Print-On-Demand and decided to order it in the name of nostalgia.

I genuinely forgot how GREAT this supplement was! There was a ton of great Ravenloft material for AD&D 2nd edition but this might be one of the very best products from that line.

The story and the NPCs are highly engaging, the very nature of the main adventure/mini-campaign opens a ton of options for replayability and the setting around the titualr castle created one of the tensest and most effectively horror-themed games I ever ran. The art holds up extremely well and does a great job capturing the feel of the adventure overall.

Mechanically if you're going to recycle this to run for 5e it will require some additional work to allow for the representation of different magnitudes of ghosts but story-wise it's well worth it.

I got the Print-On-Demand version and my scan was very clear and of very high quality.
