Utilizing an elegant point-bank system of character creation and a unique battle timing mechanic Mayhem is perhaps the best fantasy RPG I have ever stumbled across. The fighting mechanics make battles less about whose turn it is to swing and more about setting up the next blow ahead of your opponent. The many options also enable you to break out of the very trite class system and create a character truly your own.
