Introduction to the Star Fleet Universe: Prime Directive and Roleplaying

This product is an excellent introduction into the FASA Star Fleet Battles version of Star Trek, best of all it's FREE!!!

You're given a fairly comprehensive, yet basic, insight into the various species and their societies. You get a very basic and primative galactic map reminiscent of the SFB products of the early 1980s that brought fond memories and even a tear to my eye. The modern gamer will find the map to be quaint and only minimally useful.

You're also given a good overview of all the SFB related products available, making it easy to pick which ones you'll buy and in what order.

I would have liked more content covering the various pewter starship miniatures, however beggars cannot be choosers. Its a free product don'cha'kno?

Thank you for your kind review! We do want to note this if for the Amarillo Design Bureau Prime Directive line, not FASA. :) We are the creators of Star Fleet Battles (our ongoing, richly detailed starship war game). You can see our starship miniatures here: http://store.starfleetstore.com/merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=SFNT&Store_Code=S The Starline 2500s are slightly larger and more highly detailed minis. The Starline 2400s are more extensive and not quite as detailed. Again, thanks! Jean Sexton, ADB, Inc., Marketing Editor

The selected images were invariably the least good ones available. Some were downright pathetic, I've seen much superior in BT fan publications. The information linked to each day was fairly useful though, and the product is FREE, so it earns three stars.

The best of the Zero Edition of D&D clones out there. Almost feels like the mid 1970's Chain Mail game.

PCs are either Fighting Men, Clerics, or Magic Users, that's it. Everyone can look for traps, attempt to disarm traps or pick locks so a rogue specialist class is superfluous. Rangers and Knights are just versions of Fighting Men and Paladins are versions of Clerics, and that's only if the GM even permits them via a house rule.

Rolls are only via d20 and d6, no need for a 10lb dice bag! (Did you read that Darin? ;p )

My group has been playing S&W:WB for just about five months and all of us thoroughly enjoy the simplicity of this very basic hack n' slash dungeon crawl system.

Ye Olde Shoppe (UPDATED)

Interesting and well thought out shoppe or series of shops for the average fantasy campaign.

Not quite as expansive as the long out of print Aurora's Catalogue but then again what is?

This product divides weapons into simple yet effective classes that greatly lessens a GM's homework between sessions or during the campaign write-up. I find myself using this in conjunction with my old worn dog eared copy of Aurora's.

This product gets two thumbs up from me. Thanks and kudos to the folks at www.worldofprime.com.
