I hate reviews that are just gushing with praise and adoration. That's why I have a hard time writing this one because that's exactly what I want to do.

A gripping story, a cool twist, handouts for the players, aides for the GM... I could go on. Bloodlines has it all.

Bottom line: 12 to Midnight continually provides an excellent product and superior support. The best example is just to go to their website, look over all the free web info, and get all the free downloads. Personally, I've paid money for stuff of a lower quality than what they give you for free.

Ignore my gushing praise and check it out for yourself. You won't be sorry.

With this product, I was sold on 12 to Midnight.

If you are looking for a real horror adventure, this is it. The only question is whether you know what I mean by a "real horror adventure." If your idea of a horror game is less dependent on a die roll and a table and more dependent on mood and atmosphere, then you know what I'm talking about.

You'll also know how hard it is to find products that provide what you're looking for in your game. Well, 12 to Midnight isn't going to give you that... they're going to give you that and more. In addition to everything you get when you buy their product, they have more FREE supplemental material for all their products at their website. That doesn't even count the material on their overall setting.

Heck, these guys have free supplemental material for the free adventure on their website.

Service, support, and a top-notch product. What more can you ask?

I both own and have had the pleasure of playing this adventure at MACE (a NC con). I was very impressed with the motivations of all the NPC's involved. A good DM should have no problem playing these characters right off the bat. And the location can easily be dropped anywhere along your PC's travels.

It's rare to find an adventure that actually gets you excited about role-playing instead of just being another, "what can we kill in this hole-in-the-ground?" This one does that.

Important Note: I'm definitely not saying the combat is not up to par in this product. It was very challenging. The PC's need to be smart and careful.

Overall, this adventure can work well as either a fun one-shot game or a sidetrek in a campaign. Give Durblin a try, and don't mess with the gnome's puppy!
