This is seriously one of my all-time favorite settings. Sure, there are a few big-name games with settings I enjoy, but Weird Adventures literally had me running for a notebook to scribble ideas in every page or two. I cannot WAIT to read more about this setting!

Some parts of this product were useful and entertaining, other parts were not. Regardless, since there's no glut of Vs. Monsters product like there are d20 offerings, i suggest picking up everything you can find for it.<br><br> <b>LIKED</b>: more groovy options for use in your Vs. See above review...I completely agree. This is one of those purchases where you realize fairly quickly that it SHOULD have been a free download from the authors site, not a pay-for product. Really cool! Not a lot of background/setting info, but seriously...what do you need?! IT'S A WESTERN! Heck, go to your local library and pick up a few Lamour books and pick and choose..

I have been curious what all the hubub about Castles & Crusades was about. This is an EXCELLENT primer...it's like the OGL version of the D&D system DONE RIGHT! (in fact, i hesitate to say that this is a better "Boot Hill" than WotC could ever do; d20 Past indeed. boo-hiss.)

The Art is composed of black & white western clipart. (see cover image) While this doesn't bother me in the LEAST, others might complain. <br><br><b>LIKED</b>: No needless rules minutia that has become (apparently) the selling point of d20. totally awesome product. normally, i shy away from card-based rpg's, but this one is so easy to play that i absolutely loved it.

The background is somewhat vague, but leaves plenty of room for a creative GM to mold it into whatever they want...Wild West Vs. Monsters, anyone?! ;)

Good stuff...layed out like a good old fashioned zombie movie/book. Makes good use of all of the Savage Tales rules and would be an effective introduction to the system either as a one-off or the beginning of a Zombie-induced End of the World Campaign.
