This is one of the great RPGs in a long lineage of great RPGs. Any aspiring RPG creator would do well to study its design, as it does an excellent job of integrating the setting into interesting pieces and chunks that player characters can incorporate into their characters. The magic system is not distinct and separate from the rest of the mechanics, but integrated as a sort of metaphysics that undergirds the setting. As is appropriate for a martial arts game, this integrates deep and balanced (though hardcore veterans will debate how well balanced) martial arts, both "external" and "internal" martial arts.
This is the successor to Weapons of the Gods and builds on it, and attempts to improve on it. The result creates a somewhat unwieldy dice system that can result in analysis paralysis and extremely focused and intense fights, but I had really great experience with this game. It has its flaws, but I heartily recommend it anyway.
