I love these paper models for cheap fast and easy flavor for a game. I draw most of the map out on a dry erase mat and use the paper models for additional flare. Works great and the price is right.

I recently dusted this off and built one of these again and I am glad I did. I remember when I first got the model. It was one of the first kits I bought and I really got excited. I was running an AD&D campaign with a caravan, so I printed three of these out right away. That was a mistake. I had built paper models before, but nothing as complicated as this kit. The directions were not as clear as they could be, as far as a beginner was concerned, and things did not go well. I ended up completing only two of the models, and neither of them were exactly what I had pictured going into the project. Some months later when I had more experience I went back and built a wagon following the directions and understood them clearly, but that was only after having gotten more experience. Building the kit now after not having seen it for a couple of years, I recognized a few of the areas where the directions were a bit, "ahem", less than clear, but still had no trouble assembling a beautiful, sturdy, and complete wagon as nice on my shelf as it is on the game table. This is a good kit, but I recommend it for experienced modelers. Beginners attempting the kit should build it slowly and opt for simpler builds without sides at first. Do a couple of squre canvas tops before trying the rounded one. You'll be glad you did.

This is an amazing and highly detailed model, can be used with different canopies and structures. The only thing I could possibly want is some oxen or draft horses to pull it.

Excellent model- I love it, and if you have a relatively recent Photoshop it's dead easy to kitbash too. I've added side walls, text livery and other stuff to some of mine, and will be doing some circus wagons, but they are great as they are. The directions aren't comprehensive, but they don't need to be. It should be really straightforward to assemble.
One observation is that these are probably a little large if printed at 100% when compared with Dave's buildings, so if you need that level of accuracy then maybe print a few percent smaller. The size they are though is better for in game, if a number of 25/28mm models are to be positioned in and on them.
These were a kit I wasn't going to get, and the pictures don't do them justice, but I am so glad I did.

The image of the product looks awesome. I was really excited to grab this (cheaply, too!) and put it together for tonight's game, but an hour and a half later I can't figure out how it all goes together. The instructions are AWFUL. No pictures, just non-detailed text with very, very basic instructions. "Assemble the Under Carriage and Bed, and glue these together." Okay, great. How exactly do I do that!? Maybe Fat Dragon has spoiled me with their step by step photo instructions, but these instructions suck so bad that I can't use this product. And they don't have an actual picture of the final product, just an illustration. Disappointed.
Seriously, these are the instructions:
1) Score along the line running vertically between the Wheels pieces. To score a line, lightly drag your hobby knife along it, applying enough pressure to make the paper easier to fold but not enough to cut all the way through.
2) Cut out all of the pieces along their outer black lines, and cut along the horizontal lines between the Wheels.
3) Score the remaining black lines.
4) Assemble the Under Carriage and Bed, and glue these together.
5) Assemble the Axles and glue these to the Under Carriage.
6) Assemble the Tongue (or Hitching Poles) and glue it (them) in place at front of the Undercarriage and Bed.
7) Assemble the Tongue Crosspiece and affix it to the Tongue (unless using Hitching Poles).
8) Fold the Wheels into double-sided pieces, apply glue to their unprinted sides and press them flat.
9) Cut along the Wheels’ outer black lines.
10) Affix the Wheels to the ends of the Axles.
11) Optionally, you may add a canvas cover.
12) Your model is now complete.

Hi Keri, I'm sorry this model stumped you!
If you keep in mind that most of the components in this set are just "boxes" of some shape or other, it should be pretty easy to put it together just looking at the finished examples. The placement of most of the pieces should be labeled, or be obvious by the white spaces left on the components. Essentially the wagon is composed of a flat box (the bed) on top of another flat box (the undercarriage), with long skinny boxes used for the axles and wagon tongue. Since you've built some paper models before, creating paper boxes should be something you can do in your sleep! :)
Everything else should be pretty easy -- again, just look at the finished illustrations to figure out where to place the side walls, wheels and so on. Just dive in and start doing it -- cut out the pieces, cut along the outer black lines, score along the remaining lines, fold and glue -- and if you goof, it's only paper and you can print another sheet.
Hope that helps! |

This is the quintessential wagon prop that every fantasy GM should own. It makes cavaran encounters much more fun when players can see and manipulate the wagons themselves - you'll find your players jumping on top of them, hijacking them and driving them around, or using them as defensive barricades. I highly recommend pairing it with Dave's Cargo Bales (http://www.rpgnow.com/product/93496/Cargo-Bales-Paper-Models?manufacturers_id=2985) so you can fill up the caravan with goods.

This model can be built in a variety of configurations that will make it suitable for old west, medieval and fantasy. Construction is simple and the result looks good on the table.

As with most of Mr. Graffam's models, the use of layers let's you decide not only the colors, but the features and add-ons they will have.
So many models in one convient file!
A must buy for any wild west or fantasy games!

Best wagon set ever. Not only can it be for the old west as in the model shown but it also provides models for Pirate adventures and wagons all the way back to the Crusades and even The Roman Times of Julius Ceasar. Also, These wagons are not just show pieces bt they provide space for player Characters to ride within.
The next time that you plan a traveling encounter in your game, any of these wagons will provide a fantastic improvement to that encounter. The wagon and horses may decide to continue on without the pc's while the encounter drags on putting added tension and a time limit to the pc's decision making.
