The artwork is quality. The license is good. The only thing keeping me from giving it that 5th star is that the description says this pack includes a grippli alchemist. That is a stretch. The witch, dragonfly rider and iconic are all good as they're the ones in the front. The one in the back of the preview, well that can be interpreted as an alchemist, but it is an easier call to say that it is a spellcaster. This wouldn't bother me so much except I was buying this for the alchemist. So I am not sure if I am going to be able to use this for my desired purpose. However, the price is good at $6 for 4 characters and I am sure I'll be able to use these in some other future projects. If I could give this 4.5 stars, I would. Had the preview displayed the back character more clearly, this wouldn't have been an issue.

Beautiful image. Reasonable price. Solid license. Can't ask for more than that.

More of this please. Need a hand-drawn-looking regional map for an RPG product? This will be of a massive help. It is a do-it-yourself pack of icons to make a map. It provides icons for towns, towers, castles, trees, forests, mountains, mountain ranges and more. This will help make a solid regional map.
I hope to see more like this. More types of settles would be great (orcs, hobgoblins, lizardfolk, etc). Also a whole additional pack of planar icons would be AWESOME!

More like this, please! Battle maps are a dime a dozen. Large setting maps are thoughly represented. Smaller regional maps that show individual town and villages like this one does are virtually non-existant. Even better, this is GOOD. Damn good. The black and white looks hand drawn while the colored one looks like it was made with water colors and has seen use with it having stains and the paper has texture. More like this please. I know I can make a map like this with the Cartography pack Elven Tower sells, but just being able to buy a map like this saves a busy publisher serious time. Highly recommended.
My only complaint is about the dotten line. It looks done by a computer, and it is red on a B/W image. Otherwise, yea, this will be seeing use in a publication at some point of mine.

The two backgrounds with the knot design, I have used many times over the years in products and they are great. The wood-edged one, I just don't care for and have never used. I don't see anything wrong with it, so if you like it you shouldn't have any issues with it.

I've already used one of these designs in a product and I'm going to be publishing one soon using another. These interiors are a simply, cost-effective way of giving your pages a real professional look. I highly recommend them.
Feb 2020 addition to 2014 review: Since my initial review, I have used these backgrounds in many, many products with no significant issues. Highly recommended.

Of the single design page backgrounds, this one is probably my favorite. The colors are nice and have a solid contrast. My only complaint is the flowery design in the corner. If you put text over it it can be difficult to read. In the image for this product, the publisher gets around this problem by giving the text a VERY large space before putting text. But that is my only complaint and some light photoshop work can get around that. 4.5 out of 5.

At first glance this is really impressive. When you dive in and work with it, ... well the best description I can give this is sloppy. The top and bottom banners on the left and right and left pages are at different heights. Easy enough fix: delete one and copy and flip the one remaining (yes, I am actually recommending deletion of 1 of 3 files in this product). The banner at the top is great for placing logos or title of the book text. Unfortunately the center of that area does not match up with the center of light area meant for text nor does it match up with the center of the document. Some creative enlarging, cropping, copying the layer, and moving the new layer up to the bottom of your page height later and you can have it match up with the center of the document (but you'll be cropping out parts of the design on one side).
Then there's the triangle at the bottom center of the page. It would be perfect for placing a page number in it, only it is not big enough for a page nubmer unless you are making it really tiny. The center of it matches up with the top banner, so not with the center of the text area. So you have an arrow pointing to where a column is not.
Short of the long, I can't recommend this. Like I said above, this is sloppy. While it is not usable, there are others in this publisher's series of page backgrounds that are far better. I recommend them before this one. It is a pity, however. I like the color of the top and bottom banners with the page background. If these issues are addressed, it would definitely earn a higher rating.

Let me just state this upfront: if you are a publisher that does anything with fantasy, you are going to want this. With over 270 maps included, you're going to find something of use within. If you do 1e D&D style adventures, you're going to want to dungeon maps. If you detail locations, you're going to want the city maps. Even if you only use 1/10th of the maps within, that's is still 27 maps for $20, less than a dollar a map.
Just about all of these are in black and white. A few are in color. Pixel dimensions range from the 1000's x 2000's for some that are only a few rooms to the majority in the 2000's x 3000's and a few in the 3000's x 4000's. The largest I found so far is 12,600 x 9,226 (or 42 x 30.75 inches at 300 dpi)!
As stated in the product description, the license states "You are free to use, edit, modify, fold, manipulate, mutilate and mashup these maps as you please for personal or commercial works."
If you haven't subscribed to Dyson's Patreon where these maps come from, just get yourself this bundle. You won't regret it.
