A great little craft! I like the sail options and the clean lines of the hull.

This is not a complete beginner level kit, but I didn't encounter any severe challenges. Care has to be taken when fitting the bow together, and preventing the flat bottom from curving. I used a piece of thin corrugated cardboard in the bottom, and had to trim the inside hull pieces to fit. It's turned out really nice! it's super easy to detail this kit essentially as much as you want: I added rigging rope, and a tiller bar made from matchsticks on the rudder. It would probably look really cool with sails made of actual cloth, but the paper ones are enough. Print them on regular paper  not card, and hand-shape them while the glue is still wet to get a nice 3D "billowing" look.

As with all Dave Graffam products, this is beautifully rendered, the use of color and shading is excellent and really brings the construction to life, and the Layers function is cleverly used to allow a wide variety of custom options to let you build a fleet of unique patrol boats.

Printed on three pages, the parts are really nice looking and go together very well. I got mine together in about an hour, and it looks pretty good.

Easy to size to your needs, I printed mine at 90% and it is just right for my paper miniatures. Just remember to print all three pages at the same scale.

A definite must buy for the paper craft modeller, and pretty good for anyone else. Makes for a great set piece.

Excellent graphics, great variation with the multiple layers, and perfect little sailboat for middle ages river encounters. You'll probably want to have more than one to fit all you player characters in them. Most parties would fit in 2 boats but then you'll probably also want to print more for the npc's too. If you haven't expanded your adventures to the river yet, I highly reccommend this item to do so.

I bought Graffam's earlier rowboat model, and was impressed by it enough to look forward to the release of this patrol boat. I am currently taking a break from working on a model of the patrol boat while some glue dries.

The design is very elegant, giving the craft nice nautical lines with a minimum of difficult curving and gluing. The number of pieces is small and the construction is simple. The sides of two-sided pieces such as the gunwales and the sails can't just be folded over and glued. They have to be aligned as they are glued, but careful planning and dry-fitting can produce very good alignment.

The multi-layer feature alows a modeller to fill up a whole harbor with boats of a wide variety of colors and states of repair.

I am building a conversion. Instead of using the mast and sails, I'm installing a vertical boiler and a cannon to make a steam-punk patrol boat.

I give this kit five stars!
