This is a good one. It discusses, in useful fashion, what a vampire can do to screw themselves up. It discusses rare paths that do not belong to any sect, and odd rituals that are sure to upset the elders. And we get a good discussion of what happens when the Beast takes over once and for all. It is excellent and flavor/insperational material.

The art is bad, but this is common in White Wolf books of this vintage. The nuts and bolts of the Ghoul condition of this is definately worthwhile. Betther than worth while even. The addiction and the madness are pretty good for the subject matter also. The only flaw here is that (and this is as much ambience as explicit) is that they drag things into BDSM territory in ways that are probably not necessary. This might be to some folks taste, but not to mine, and I think it maybe would have been better to just stick with the whole addiction/cruelty/descent into madness without taking things further.

That being said, the whole BDSM issue really is a book/cover thing, and this should not put off the player that enjoys his/her Old World of Darkness. There is a lot of good and creepy in here.

This is something of a good news/bad news book. It is easy to read, and contains a discussion of path followers among the sects, and a laundry list of paths. Most of these have been seen before, but a few are new. It would have been nice to see more path evolution, and perhaps more explicit updates of some of the Via from Dark Ages (there is one), but the treatment of the paths in the book is very good. If you play a Sabbat game (really this book is most useful for that purpose) this is good to have, particularly if you want a better take on what the Paths of Enlightenment are for and what they do. If you are a completist this is also good. If you mostly play a casual Cam/Anarch game where the paths are not a particularly big deal, or don't need to be treated in depth, skip it.

This is one of the better revised Clanbooks, if not the best. It finally gives the Settites some depth beyond "Ooooooh, were reeeaaally evil, and like snakes.".

It gives a "why" for what they do what they do, a method for their madness, and generally makes these guys interesting as either antagonists or player characters. Which is what a clanbook should do.

Bravo.

Not bad, an easy enough read. Gives a better idea of what the Black Hand is all about, what it is, and what it does.

It is a bit more sparse on details then I would like, and there are some things in here that REALY NEEDED TO BE FLESHED OUT, even with just some possibilities.

If you are a completist, or really, really like the Black Hand, then get this. If you just like to play Vampire, even in a Sabbat chronicle, you don't need this as much.
