Bite of the Lindworm: A Sidetrack Adventure for the Fantasy Sagas Role-Playing Game is a 21-page PDF (20 pages if you remove the cover) written by Ruel Knudson and published by Ironwood Omnimedia Company.
The layout is standard, single column with a very nice table of contents. The only art is the cover art and full-color Dundjinni generated maps at the end of this product.
Bite of the Lindworm is a sidetrack, a short single session adventure to be run as needed without being part of a grand plot, though some -like this one- may have lasting effects on a campaign. It is designed to easily fit into an area of hills or mountains but can be easily adapted for other terrain.
It is a straightforward adventure, as one would expect, beginning with the character finding the aftermath of an attack by an infected wolf and being drawn into dealing with it (with suggestions in case the players would rather avoid the situation).
In any case the characters will, sooner or later, run into the causes of all, the Lindworm which is an unusual creature as it does not fight to kill but to wound relying upon its poison and disease laden teeth to kill its prey for later consumption. Character wounded by the Lindworm will have to cope with the horrors that the mix of poison and disease bring. Finding the cure for which may well extend well beyond this adventure. Some suggestions for further use of Lindworms is included.
This product does just what it sets out to do, provides an interesting short adventure that can lead into other challenges. Though it does seem a little expensive for its short length.
