Exalted has a large amount of supplemental material. If you want to play Solar Exalted using the Core book and you can only afford one supplement, though, get this one.

The Glories to the Most High series has useful setting information and great Charms to expand on what the Core book has to offer. It's easily among the best material written for Exalted's second edition, and I've gotten a lot of use out of it. It's also cheap!

Adam did a good job of explaining my issues with the product so I won't repeat it all here, but what I will say is despite those issues I felt the product overall was stellar and worthy of the 4 stars I gave it. The Crunch on the whole was great and makes the book well worth the price of admission.

First, the Charms were amazing! Those alone would have probably ranked a 3 or 4.

However, the treatment of the Unconquered Sun and his panoply was stiff and not terribly imaginative. The Daystar chariot was rather... unneeded. His whole characterization seemed like an attempt to undo the damage to the Unconquered Sun's character which occurred after the 2E core. However, to me, it also demolished the ambiguity and make-of-him-as-you-will flavor that Games of Divinity left.

For a treatment of one of the defining characters of Exalted... it was unacceptable.

Oddly enough, I'd buy it for those Charms...

This is easily the most significant Exalted book release since Dreams of the First Age.

For starters, the Unconquered Sun: he has stats, artifacts, and a full suite of powers. He is clearly explained both in terms of his character and motivation and mechanically. Both are overwhelming. The chief god of the setting now makes a great deal of sense without closing off other possible opportunities for interpretation. From crack-addled derelict to unflappable hero, all can be managed by reading his section.

Observances describes the worship of the Sun, and the response one is likely to get.

Charms - this section is outstanding: there are new high-essence Charms, low-essence Charms, a new Martial Arts style, and even anima upgrade Charms. All are fantastic. Clearly the Charm-writers know their stuff and have a great grasp of both the classical heroism the game is built on and the Hollywood heroism many players strive for, and have built both into a very mechanically-sound Charm set.

All in all, this is one of the gems of Second Edition, and should immediately go to the top of the list of Books You Must Own For Exalted.

White Wolf should hire these freelancers again - outstanding work. Five stars are not enough.

The three books that make up Glories of the Most High are probably the most significant and expansive books printed in Exalted 2nd Edition. Whereas many other books are revisions of earlier material, these three PDFs take concepts that were previously unexplored and shed light on them, almost universally to the betterment of the game.

They're some of the best books in the entire line, and the current crop of freelancers responsible for their creation deserve every bit of the praise being heaped upon them.

Very, very well done.

Holiest of Holies, Ignis Divine, gets his due, and his Chosen gain displayed magic that can literally break mountains. The Unconquered Sun's faults and strengths are well-balanced, and his behavior (as well as actions attributed to him) becomes eminently understandable. Also noted in his history are the changes that he underwent through his existence. While the mechanical side doesn't contain a Defend Other action, it does contain an option for fine-tuning some basic parts of the game that Exalted other than Solars rely on, such as needing to Combo multiple defensive Charms. Also a must have, even if you only want to pin down the Deathlords to make them challengable, rather than unbeatable, adversaries.

The first of the Glories books, this nifty little pdf is useful to all Exalted games.

It provides: -Insight on the mindset and purview of the Father of the Solar Exalted -Useful, colorful Charms for Solars and Abyssals. Includes a new Martial Arts style for those who wish to emulate the many-armed golden king of heaven -Options for hijacking the Sun and drive it across all Creation, and rules for taking over the Unconquered Sun's purview -A groundview look at the Most High, including legends told by mortals and thaumaturgical rituals

Absolutely worth the hype, and the wait. A steal at $7, though I recommend buying the bundle pack of all Glories books (which are just as good)

I was delighted by how information dense this pdf is. It has a good amount of fluff, and it is interesting and evocative fluff that can add background to any chronicle. The new charms are useful, with solid mechanics (so far as I can tell.) There are some NPC's that can provide useful plot hooks. And the Unconquered Sun is statted out, if you were just dying to know.

I was concerned that the product was being over-hyped, and the low price meant the content would be sparse. Far from it-- this is nearly a full sized source book. I highly recommend it!

The product is amazing! Not only does it reveal one of the most influential aspects of the game setting (if indirect ones in most games), it also provides much needed crunch to help round out characters - and in ways the consumer base have been clamoring for!

Good production quality, good writing, good demonstration of responsiveness to the market - this book means business.

The Sun is quite awesome, tons of new Solar Charms, new Artifact sand even some cool misc. stuff.

My main gripe is the lack of Charms for some specific Abilities, namely, no Charms at all for Archery, Thrown, War, Larceny and Sail. But what we get for other Abilities is a lot of good and great stuff to take into account for balancing custom Charms. Still very worth the five stars, though.

The three Glories pdfs are pretty much the best thing to come out of White Wolf's Exalted line since the core. Hands down.

It has everything you could want (setting fluff, Incarnae stats, Exalted Charms, artifacts, thaumaturgy) and still leaves you wanting even more!
