Celtic Papers #2
Publisher: Sade

The quality of the images was well worth $1.00 apiece. I know there are complaints to file size, but I think having a larger image is good for a professional and allows you to shrink as needed. I'd much rather have a file I can shrink then a file that looks blemished with blocky pixels when I enlarge it. I plan on using this in an upcoming release and would recommend this to others as well.

My only issue stems from the fact that the document only contains images and no copyright information (I know by purchasing it's there by proxy), but some sort of text (even a .txt file) outlining usage rights would be appreciated. I got the royalty explanation free notice from the website forum originally, but currently the link is broken.

Thanks again for an excellent product!

Debatable Actions (D20 Modern)

This is one of the best add ons I've came across. It has the possibility of expanding the boring skill check of a single die roll into an actual debate/battle. Instead of hinging everything on one lucky roll this document has the rules to expand it out. While my gaming group and I have added feats and tailored it to the Pathfinder Roleplaying System, this seems a must to any fan of the d20 Modern system.

The Genius Guide to the Death Mage

Very good! The only reason this did not recieve 5 stars is because the death mage spell listonly includes 3 0-level spells, but by 2nd level you gain 4 prepared 0-level cantrips. This forces the GM to pick more spells or have the player waste slots. This should be a simple fix if updated... I liked the Ice Magic as well and look forward to more guides later.

Thanks for pointing that out! We've corrected the mistake and uploaded a new version with an expanded 0-level spell list.

Although I liked the base classes and some of the content, there is a lot in need of fixing. I can stand typos and such, but I really feel too much of this is still stuck in 3.5 edition. I was most excited about the million item list (3 d100 lists) as the Diablo II: Awakening book from 2nd ed had this, and I liked it there, but there really isn't 1 million items. It felt a little ripped out of the diablo list without much change (which I kinda liked), but in the prefixes alone are missing entries 18 and 42, and the +1 to attributes are repeated, making the list feel a little underdone. I don't care that this list is unbalanced, but I got annoyed having to reroll this. I'm giving it 3 stars because I happened to get it on sale really cheap, which made the price an okay trade-off. This book came out around the time the final rules did and was one of the first third party to give something substantial. I just caan't understand with all these errors and reviews pointing it out why there iesn't an updated file.

The Genius Guide to Ice Magic
Publisher: Rogue Genius Games

The GOOD:

A nice collection of ice themed add-ins. I really liked the ice elementals and felt this book was well themed. The cantrip is useful and something a bit better than some of the others available without being overpowered. Ice mirror also has a great flavor for arctic campaigns, and I could totally see this being used in any kind of fiction. The 14 spells, the bloodline, feat, domain, template, and creature are fairly priced. +0 CR templates are always loved. This is well-balanced for pathfinder and easily added.

The BAD:

The spell Blue Touch kinda got under my skin a little. I'm not fond of having wizards and sorcerers having healing spells, but this on is so limited in use, I just can't see myself using it ever compared to a cure light wounds potion or spell. I think the bloodline is too far inferior to the stock offered elemental bloodline [water] of the core rulebook. Also, I was thinking it would have been nice to have some spells not physically linked to cold, but emotionally so, like maybe a "cold hearted" spell making the target unsympathetic, immunity ot emotional effects, at loss of morale bonus and such.

The 2 CP:

I usually rate elemental spells on their ability to translate into the other elements (for example the orb spells in 3.5). The more elemental things like this the higher I'd wanna rate this. The ice elementals could easily be magma, acrid, or ionic. The same goes for the feat and template. In the future I'd like to see more spells, and would be happy to pay more for the extra content.
