I had this in my folder for quite a while and did not use them.

Today I was scrambling for a town map for my game that the players were going to reach after the next encounter unexpectedly.

Presto!!!!

Great map, very easy to use and drop into my VTT (Klooge) and the players thought I had it planned all along. They even commented on how nice the cartography was and did I have it done special for my game.

I was looking for a few nice generic maps to use.

I spotted the Essential Fantasy and was like, hmmmm I wonder. Most gamers like the underground maps to the exclusion of anything else but I gave it a try.

I opened up volume 1.

Flipped through a couple of pages.

Went and purchased and downloaded all three other volumes.

Full overhead maps, Full Iso views of the map. NO GRIDS for me to deal with. Easy to import into my VTT and use within minutes.

Sure there a a few underground maps I will never use. But these are worth the price for the ones that I will use over and over again.

Waiting for Volume #5 now....

Excellent starting point for a new series of campaign locations.

I was able to download Cowfold and pluck an NPC out to use in my campaign within minutes. The maps are nicely formatted for ease of use and the village is a nice compact size without seeming to be bound by the square edges of the sides of paper.

I like how each NPC is given a quick description and simple motivations. The secrets section can help if this turns into more than a quick side trek encounter also.

Overall I am very happy to have this in my bag of tricks for when my players travel cross country and I need a quick waypoint.

I just grabbed this as my first trial for this type of product.

I like the varying poses of the Lizardmen and the only thing I wish I could do is to have the background be transparent rather than white. I will use these images to create icons for my game run through Klooge and so the transparent background would allow them to blend in better on the map.

Overall happy with what I got and I will explore more sets as I need them.
