Eye candy is one of those treats that, while enjoyable on its own merits, always works better when you can work it into your game somehow. The picture of the sexy princess chained to a rock in her underwear is fun to ogle – but its just so much better when you’re describing that situation to your players, and can then hold up the picture and say “here she is.” That’s just fun, and it’s that sort of fun that The Forest Kingdom, from Sphere Productions, brings.

This product contains images of eleven women, most of them in some sort of cheesecake outfit. Now, not all of them are dressed in that all-too-common style of impractical-but-fun-to-watch, but a significant portion of them are. Expect sexy wizardesses who dress in slinky outfits and princesses in halter tops and mini-skirts; full plate mail is clearly not in among the women of this kingdom.

The images themselves come in two different formats. The first is a PDF that displays the characters set against a background, and having a caption that gives the picture’s title. This PDF also comes with a series of paper minis – which are the only instances where you can view these characters from the back – that can be cut out for use on the game table.

There’s also a zip file which contains the girls in various PNG picture files. Most of these have not only the image from the PDF (containing a background), but also a background-less version, containing only the character. Interestingly, most also have a third picture, which usually contains the same background as the other, but with some minor change. For example, some have brighter lighting, or others have windows that show twilight instead of a clear blue sky. I’m not sure why these small changes were included, but it’s pretty cool that they were.

Beyond that, there’s not much to this set, which is kind of a disappointment. I’d hoped that Sphere Productions would start giving us more about who these characters are, maybe even including RPG stats, but so far it doesn’t seem to be happening. It’s a missed opportunity to be sure. Still, if all you’re looking for is some eye candy to ogle over, you won’t be disappointed with the women of the Forest Kingdom.
