You're All Doomed! [5E]

A horrific adventure for 5e D&D. Contains an area map, details of a village (random determination of villager details) and map of a wizards tower and dungeon. An extremely appropriate title if using lower level PC's and with the possiblity of loosing a great evil on the land.

5 stars because it is free. A single massive encounter involving 49 npc's plus the adventurers.

There is a small quarter page coloured map of the encounter area.

Given the lack of price I can't see any problems with it, other than the DM keeping track of what over 50 people are doing.

(5E) A00: Crow's Rest Island
Publisher: AAW Games
by David T. [Verified Purchaser]

An adventure for four 1st level PC's using 5e D&D rules. This is very colourful with maps of a viking longship, 3 maps of part of a land mass and a village. I really liked the quality of the maps.

The adventure itself contains only 3 encounters with mainly the same antagonists, which is a bit disappointing.

Four 1st level human adventurers are provided, enabling it to be played quickly.

Overall I think it's worth the purchase for the maps alone, but would have liked more meat to the encounters.

Foreven Worlds: Ships of the Border Worlds
Publisher: Mongoose
by David T. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 10/24/2021 10:44:49

This is based on the Mongoose Traveller rules. It contains 5 starships based in Foreven, although usable wherever you have TL9, TL10, TL11 and TL14 worlds.

Each starship contains a page of background description, the breakdown of construction costs and at least one page of fully coloured deck plans. Two TL10 starships share the same hull with different components for civilian and military versions. I like the take on what a TL10 military spaceship is, but a bit hard to see them successfully invading a planet.

Even if you consider there are only 4 hulls it is still extremely good value for money at under £1 each and with clour deckplans, I had to give it a 5 for this alone.

(5E) C02: Goblin Cave
Publisher: AAW Games
by David T. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 10/24/2021 09:42:39

From the same author as Algoran's gem and has the code C2, which has me scratching my head as C1 was for 3rd - 5th level characters and this is for 1st level?

This feels more like a modern adventure than C1 as there is a village briefly mentioned, although no map, provided. Next there is an area map which for some reason does not show either the village of Svor or the Goblin cave.

The cave of the title has 9 locations all with an encounter or trap, so a tough dungeon for 1st level characters.

There are 2 maps of the goblin cave, one without locations marked.

Slightly disapointed with this after the excellent C1.

A single level dungeon with 29 rooms/encounter sites and a nasty sting at the end. Thoroughly enjoyable!

The booklet contains 2 coloured maps of the dungeon with one unlabeled, a definite improvement over the old style blue and white maps!

The only criticism is that there is only one way throught the dungeon it feels a bit too much like being led by hand.

Medieval Camp
Publisher: DramaScape
by David T. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 10/24/2021 09:22:07

A 'camp' surrounded by a wooden stockade with a single gate and 4 wooden fighing platforms art each corner.

There are 3 versions, square grid, hex grid and no grid.

It feels more like a permanent site, rather than a camp, but I can see many uses for it.

A huge amount of materiel with many tables for determining backgrounds and 3 pages of sample backgrounds. I really like the graverobber background for an npc.

I purchased mainly with the idea of creating quick backgrounds for npc's, but they are ideal for players as well.

Village Backdrop: Thornhill (5e)
Publisher: Raging Swan Press

A village on the fringes of a swamp, exactly what I was looking for. There are 9 locations within the village and a nearby isle of lizardmen (again something I was looking for).

Eight npc's are detailed and there are two event tables for the two locations.

Overall excellent value for money.

Would have liked more locations detailed, so still some work for me to do.

British Vehicles of World War II
Publisher: Mongoose
by David T. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 10/24/2021 08:48:40

A selection of 29 British vehicles from WW2 at Traveller TL5. This includes ground and air vehicles, but no sea vehicles, which is a major disapointment. I would have liked to have seen MTB's, Flower class Corvettes and River class Frigates at least.

I purchased the product as an aid in creating the military for a TL5/6 world (Pavabid in the Spinward Marches), but the absence of ships is a major let down. It is also lacking in artillery, other than the SP variety, although stats can be deduced from the handy table of weapons at the back of the booklet and misses out the 3.7" AA gun, which is vital if you're trying to shoot down an air raft.

Overall at 21p per vehicle I suppose it is reasonable value for money, if incomplete.

Classes of Distinction
Publisher: Dan Coleman Productions
by David T. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 10/23/2021 17:23:14

This contains 9 new class options for 5e D&D, some are good and others not so, but at this price it's hard to complain and it's fairly subjective whether you like something or not. For example, I'm not keen on the chronomancer, if I wanted to mess about with time I'd play Doctor Who, other people might think it's great.

I especially liked that this came in 2 versions, I nice printer friendly version for thos classes you choose to use and the deluxe version.
