When I was new to FG2 and D&D4e, the idea of an ready made adventure module appealed to me and there weren't many options. This product however isn't worth the money. The adventure is strictly a railroad affair. There's even a part where the PCs are surrounded by fog and can't make any progress except in the direction desired by the author. There is another point where the PCs must make an important discovery in an out of the way location, because if they don't, they cannot finish the adventure. The included tokens are a mix of styles drawn from a variety of free sources, adding to the amateurish appearance of the product.

I have to agree with the first reviewer...I think I will find this product most useful as a template on how to build your own campaign for FGII. The overall product just felt a little too amateurish compared to much of the other independently published material that's available. It comes with a few maps and images that are usable, but overall I doubt I'll run much of this.

God, i can't believe that other reviewer only giving this adventure module 2 stars. I'm in a all-female playing group in NYC. The five of us played the entire game. We're all IT people, so we at least have some brains. We alternatley laughed at the puns and cried at the tragedies. The end was like watching the end battle of Lord of teh Rings. Strike that---- it was like being in the end of the LOTR. After the time travel field gave us all the clues we needed, everything in this long adventure fit together, and I mean everything. That good-bad girl Geniveev (sp?) from the top level was probably the best npc our group ever saw (but we have a good dm too). We're going onto wotc's H2 module next. I've read through it. It is so tame and boring after just coming off of the appleview adventure. I asked the other players this morning if they agreed with me. They said yes and said they wanted to come down from the high of the conclusion of the appleview experience before going to a much simpler adventure like H2. Maybe we will do something different then H2 in fact. If you like long campaigns where the things you learn even at the beginning fit in at the end, play this one.

Wow... what can I say. I was really looking forward to a good 4e adventure for FG2. Regretfully, this isn't it. Why? Maybe it's my aversion to bad character names, especially ones stolen directly from movies and tv shows. The banker? Young Mr Grace (Are You Being Served?). The name of the General Store? Wonky Willy (Willy Wonka anyone?). Ethel Murtz (I Love Lucy) and Joe? They are gnome farmers. There is a Guicci Bag of Holding and a Fendi Bag of Holding. There is an attack by rubber chickens.

Now if one wanted to edit out all the show stopping references to modern day media and products there might be a salvageable adventure in here. Both the artwork (used to reference some of the visuals) and the maps are passable for the most part. Or perhaps not. The first half of the adventure reads like a railroad... you even have a tool of bouncing fireballs to keep the party moving forward.

It IS useful if one decides to digest it as a reference as to how to build a complex adventure in FG2... I'm tempted to use it as a template, but not much more. It is a pricey template.
