Changeling: the Lost Second Edition
Publisher: Onyx Path Publishing

I love this 2nd Edition with a passion, i find it way more enjoyable than the first edition, the rules and mechanics make more sense, and in hindsight while I had many good hours playing the first edition I can see while people described it as "fetishizing victimhood" while the 2nd Edition is written in a way that is much more mindful of the possible mindsets of survivors.

It's simply more fun to play.

My odd complaint is that I can never -find- the product as it appears missing both from the stores library searches and my own library of purchased books. I know the first edition is apparently more popular but is this second edition so unpopular that the store or publisher has chosen to pretend it doesn't exist?? It even took me two years after the products release to find and purchase it, while i checked the site for it for years, thinking it had not been released at all yet.

With Changeling updated now, the book has bookmarks, although they are not organized as plainly as Vampire, Mage, Promethean, or Werewolf, they are easy enough to follow, and there are enough of them to quick reference the book during play, so really, the way it's organized is a small slight, one I can hope they update in the future, but I'd be dishonest if I gave the book any less than five stars now.

I have little to say about the sourcebook itself that hasn't already been, said and a biased lense to view it through. I am already a fan of Faeries in folklore and in fiction, and of stories involving urban fantasy and modern magic. The darkly paranoid but beautiful style of changeling appeals to me more than mage the awakening, and the edgy way the game is presented makes it easy to draw not just intensely creepy, or tragic stories, but really any flavor of roleplaying from the uplifting to the traumatizing could be drawn from it without deviating from the game's canon very much or even at all.

For me this game makes the core of my New World of Darkness experience which all the other game lines supplant.

The sourcebook itself is good, much like changeling the electronic product has flaws that made me lower the review I gave it. The chapters are organized strangely, with each sub-chapter color coded instead of organized into sub-chapters like it should be, and some chapters have no sub chapters at all. I gave it three stars because unlike changeling it can be referenced a little more easily in gameplay, using the the chapter selection even if, the organization is strange and awkward
