This is a great collection of mini-templates for all kinds of characters, well organized and quite extensive. I am enjoying this greatly.

I found this to be well-written, interesting and fun. The lore is just enough, and includes some open-ended options for expanded adventuring. Nicely laid out and illustrated, too. Recommended!

Excellent idea! I think this is exactly the direction that Champions should go. I really like the Chapters with the advancement of each character and their write-ups. I really like the concentration on the abilites by moving the math to later. There might be a danger that dependent players may never pick up how to generate a character, but honestly, those folks may never learn well anyway. It's better, in my opinion, to get people playing. If they are excited, they will be much more open to learning the system.
Some of the organization, layout, use of graphics and writing need to be polished, but having said that, the core idea is dynamite.

I'm very happy to see this. I have roleplayed with my students and my kids for years and have found that when players fight, or a player with a quiet personality can't get a word in, the game goes south in a hurry. I used a similar system and it works very well. This set of cards has beautiful graphics and is nicely designed. A suggestion for use with kids is to make sure there are in game consequences for yellow and red. For us, if red was thrown, everyone has to leave the table for 10 minutes. This gives time to cool down and work out the problem. If yellow was thrown, it was a warning that someone wasn't having fun anymore and the table has five minutes to fix the problem or the red will be thrown. This gives the quiet ones power to shut down the whole game, making sure that the more lively players will listen. This will change the dynamic of your games significantly for the better by empowering everyone to change negative behaviors at the table. Excellent.

I haven't enjoyed reading a game this much since my Champions boxed set in 1982. In fact, I was having flashbacks. I got so excited, I dug up all my old characters and started writing them up for BASH! UE.
The system has a lot of variety but is a pretty simple point-buy process. Some of the powers could use a little more explanation, and there are some typos, but for the most part, it's great fun.
A great part of the appeal is the layout and the illustrations. Large type, easy to read; simple animation style images that really capture the feel of super-hero animation shows like Justice League and Avengers. I'd say this would be a great starter game for kids 12 and up. Probably younger with some guidance.
For an old school gamer like me, it was a breath of fresh air.

This is a well written and very clear version of the Fate RPG with lots of alternatives and many great ideas. Crunchier in places than Spirit of the Century, with many examples of important concepts.

This is an amazing amount of game for the price. The Fate 3 system is exceptional for cinematic play. It takes a little to get your head around Aspects, one of the primary concepts of Fate, but once you do it will change the way you think about role-playing. The setting is amazingly researched and every effort seems to have been made to promote the pulpy feel of the original comics. This book is huge, entertaining, easy to read, laced with art from the comics and to top it off, there is a random adventure generator.
