It is a short and sweet snap shot of the world of 2013. Not much fan fare and when I got it, it was free so I am not going to complain. If you are a completionist and must have everything from the short lived Twilight 2013 series besure to add it to the collection.

This is a real teaser and doesn't offer you any insights into the actual game itself - if you want to get more of a feel for the game then go to 93 Games Studio and register for the forums and have a scroll through that.

Be aware that Twilight: 2013 is NOT going to be a merely updated version of the popular T2K of the 1980's fame. The developers have designed a new game mechanic system, dubbed 'the Reflex' system and the focus is really on the civilian side of the equation as opposed to the military side that featured so heavily in the 1st and 2nd editions of the game.

As for this acutal product? Well, it does it job of whetting the appetite. Release of the game has been delayed due to printer issues for well over a year now, although late 2008 is meant to be a go.

This is a promo product, so the main objective would be to entice the reader to buy Twilight: 2013. It is not stating what the game will be about, merely setting the mood.

As such I find it a bit scarse in providing such a mood. The new feel of Twilight: 2013 isn't clearly given. It is post-apocalyptic, and there seems to have been another type of disaster than the limited nuclear war in its forerunner Twilight: 2000.

In the recording of the president's speech I found the voice actor a bit too young for creating the mood that this is a speech given by the president of the United States of America.

Great teaser, I remember the first edition of Twilight 2000 back in 1984 we could not get enough of it. I cant wait for the game to come out.

I have been following this product for about a year now

THis was a total disappointment! When will this game come to light so we can check it out?

Well, I suppose the saying "You get what you pay for," applies here. This freebie is supposed to be a teaser for the updated version of GDW's famous Twilight2000. And that, it is, sort of.

The file contains the speech given by the US president in 2013 when WWIII has ravaged the world and central government has faded. A great start for the game, but unfortunately, the file tells nothing of how the game will be updated or even how the war that led to this event happened!

Overall, therefore, this is a dsapointment.

Not what I expected. What you get is a little promotional brochure with a (long) "Presidential Address" embedded as an audio file that is supposed to set the scene for you. I am an old T2K v1 and v2 player and what I was looking for a reason to invest in this new version. The packaging is unique and interesting in a way, but it fails to tell me WHY I should buy this newer(?) version.

Wow.

I gotta get this. The original Twilight:2000 was one of my all-time favorites, probably second only to D&D. From the tone of the teaser, it looks to have more of the flavor of the Jericho series than the military-in-Europe first edition. I like that.
