Great little system. Offensive powers either do damage or hinder and Defensive powers add HP. That's it! The players and the GM get to describe what all that looks like in the scene based on flexible power descriptions and the assigned effect die (d6 through d12)
A standard d20 + attribute roll vs a set difficulty (10) lets you know if your action is successful but it is the effect die that indicates how well you succeed.
Easy. Streamlined. Intuitive. As advertised, the rules get out of the way.
Both characters and obstacles have HP (hit points or hurdle points) Snatching a civilian out of a burning building might be a 3 hp obstacle which can be overcome by using your flight power, or your stretching power... be creative!
"Note to author. I would pay more for more! I think a little more guidence on powers, movement speeds etc... could really help out less experienced GM's. That being said... fantastic game!
