Here's a list of what to expect in this module
Things I liked: The rolls are quite simple. Dice pool systems are my favorite, and this one is no exception!
There are rolls to completely negate goons in a contested stealth check, and it’s really cool. It reminds me of some John Wick stuff.
The setting is great. Each of the different courts are similar enough that it isn’t a whole other setting, but play in different sub genres of Japanese culture.
Things I didn’t like: The boss monsters didn’t feel like they had enough of an oomph to me. Part of that is a skill issue on my part, first timing a system as the GM, but part of it is that the one shot I ran was just a taste of a bigger story, and so the fight fell flat to me.
Also, stealth is king in this game which is fine, but it isn’t otherwise emphasized in the materials imo. If they mentioned it more readily in the handbook we had, I would be all for it.
All in all, a wonderful system and I think will make for a very entertaining evening or two!
