I was fortunate enough to receive a review copy of the game, and I have thoroughly enjoyed it. It is a simple mechanic for people to be able to insert into any system, to create moments of true bonding and the kinds of memories that people play roleplaying games for. It contains some wonderful examples with mouth-watering recipes from a variety of cultures, and it's very much worth the price to include in your game - and perhaps spark some ideas of recipes of your own. The examples cover several systems, which is handy, but the mechanics provided make things simple enough to make your own recipes up for the game of your choice.

When I originally saw this I wasn't that this would be a resource that I would use. That will change! It is apparent that a great deal of focus went into this resource's presentation and also meal selection. I appreciate that the level of meta presented is not crunchy at all. To my surprise, the meta was applied accross several RPG systems through their respective Creative Commons-not just 5e SRD! Yes!

It would be nice to go into a tavern and not only be presented a menu, but have some meals with a bit more cultural zing to them. A fun way to really incorporate meals into your games, beyond drink menus. NGL- I was hoping for the recipes too. I hope those are on a "road ahead" for this fun product.

While I enjoyed the mechanics and concept of this, I found myself wondering what more could come from it? As a chef in my personal life and for ten years of my professional life, I'm constantly trying to find TTRPG art and content that marries my love of food and games, I recognize that there's a ton of untapped potential here that could lead to a full cookbook with functional recipes that also work with the mechanics. I would love to see what develops out of this.

The color palette is a great choice and feels warm and inviting like a fire your party is all gathered around and I see the vision with the layout, but I think spacing things out and allowing the piece to be 2 pages or double sided would let the content breath on the page. Things feel cramped and it's easy to lose what you're reading l, even for one page.

Ultimately, I enjoyed this and can't wait to utilize it at my tables, but will find myself wanting more!
