A neat little sandbox for use with a new/low level party. I will most likely make use of this module, but it is not without flaws. There are many spelling errors, and the boxed text is kind of a slog. Considering the hamlet of Taldren takes up more than half of the page count, there is not a lot going on there. I'm not entirely happy paying £12 for this product, so I would definetely recommend waiting for sale.

After reading (and loving!) the Evils of setting/hexcrawl campaign, I have been eagerly awaiting both Realms of Peril and Dragonwilds. Honestly, anything by Zach Wolf/Spellsword Studios is going to e an instant buy going forward. This is a great OSR-lite toolkit with a focus on a loosely class-based smorgasbord of abilities to create your own perfect character. It is also surprisingly funny in places, specifically the character background and spell lists, which was definetely welcome nd helps give the product a unique 'voice'. I could not be happier with this system and rate it alongside Eyes Beyond the Torchlight as an awesome OSR alternative, that you should defnetely check out!
My only two criticisms, for the attention of the author; 1: the book could benefit from more examples of play, specifically regarding how players respond to enemy actions in combat. 2: I purchased the physical/fanzine version of the book via your website, it is flimsy as **** (which I guess I should have expected), but a game this good deserves, nay DEMANDS a proper PoD release!

This one-shot adventure was an impulse buy because I like Savage Worlds and mobster stories. The price is set as 'Pay what you Want' and I contributed £1.00, unsure what to expect. I wish I had paid more as this adventire is GOLD. You could run this adventure with zero preparation and still have a BLAST, with so many additional elements that it could run for 1-2 sessions and maybe serve as a starting point for a longer camapign. If the studio were to produce a savage setting written with the same flair, I would buy it in a heartbeat. I cannot reccomend this adventure enough and you should definetely get it too! :D

I purchased this product on the belief it was a Christmas themed scenario for the Savage Worlds role playing game - however, it turned out to be a a skirmish game using the mass combat rules. If that's all you're looking for, then great - but it was not what I needed or what the item description indicated I was buying.

I am driven to agree with other reviewers. Gary McBride is either a very clever thief or an incompetent publisher. Regardless of the quality of anything Fire Mountain Games release, I will not be supporting this author in any way, shapeor form ever again and encourage others to think twice before supporting this fraudster.

I bought this system on the strength of the other user reviews. I am a deaf roleplayer and thought the chat-window orientated nature of this product would enable enjoyable online roleplaying. It may well do, but the system is so incredibly hard to use I may never know. I expected that there may be a Help file or toolkit that I could read to familiarise myself with the product but no, all I can see are a collection on tutorial videos hosted on youtube which I cannot hear. Ultimately, this was a waste of my time and money and I am pretty annoyed that anyone would release a product without providing clear instructions as to how it works.

Hello Michael,
Your feedback is unfortunately very valid. The user manual we used to ship with the download has been deprecated since many of the screens referenced now have a different appearance. We have started to rely upon video instructions for many of the steps without properly considering what that would mean for the deaf community. I would be happy to send you the slightly out of date user manual. It won't cover the newer features, but it does show you the basic functionality which still exists today. In addition, I think you would find that there is additional online documentation on the www.fantasygrounds.com site and a helpful community willing to help. If you are unhappy with the product and support, we would grant a full refund of your purchase. You can contact me at support@fantasygrounds.com. - Doug

I confess mI'm relatively new to tabletop roleplaying, having a meagre three sessions of Dark Heresy under my belt, but I purchased the JAWS pdf due to the positive things I'd been hearing about the PDQ play system. The core mechanics focus heavily on roleplaying and storytelling, and while dice rolls still determine much of what comes to pass, it never feels like the rules are bogging down the game or in any way limiting my character or imagination.
I cannot recommend this game enough. If you're looking for some rules-light, creative fun, you really cannot go wrong with JAWS.
