This book is a grand tour to this interesting city in Tarsh. I am very glad the wonderful world of Glorantha expands to these new territories. Furthest has been made to look informative and beautiful with plenty of commisioned arts, but Simon has the advantage of being a master artist also himself. I liked a lot that this is not just a sourcebook, but also has a full scenario. It icludes plenty of stats, the minor cults and monsters, that make the book fun to use as a fully fleshed RQG book, that it is. Thank you Simon and friends for making this gem and keep these coming!

Couldn't imagine a better and more comprehensive book about Furthest. Invaluable resource for all adventures in lunar Tarsh. This surely is a new golden age for RQ.

A very fine addition to the Jonstown Compendium, with excellent art and maps. An essential resource for anyone travelling to or through Tarsh, be they Lunars or Orlanthi.

I'm not sure there's much I can add about Simon's Furthest book that hasn't already been said or shown. It's very thorough, full of top-notch art from a range of contributors, and Nick Brooke's layout job is splendid. If I had to pick out just one element, the broader material on Tarsh is very helpful, especially the NPC section covering the "major players" of Tarsh.

A stuning book in every way possible - the world and lore are so comprehensive, no stone is left unturned. After a passge or before a complex map, there are apendicies giving you alternatives and extra reasoning referencing other works, this book feels like the start and end of a rabbit hole of information. For a potential game master/DM, you have all the resources you could need to run some fantastic games and start exploring. As someone who is usually playing, I loved exploring the world that has thus far been the "bad guys", but of course that is just a matter of perspective! The rich history and complex characters make me want to explore every temple, inn and stall at the markets. Speaking of characters, the art work is as fantastic as you would expect for a RuneQuest book, characters who feel real and have lived experience jump out of the page and suck you in. There are reams of information to unpack, and many chuckles to have along the way (Moon Rock Cafe is a personal favourite). This book begs to be re-read and disected, scenarios played and played again. If it wasn't obvious, I highly recommend Crown Jewel of Lunar Tarsh as a spring board into Glorantha or an extenstion of lore and world building for the more seasoned RuneQuest player/lover.

Thoroughly researched, splendidly illustrated, always designed for playability (look at the sewer map for instance! And the indices, both general and thematic), this is in my mind the very embodiment of the fan-driven Glorantha I like. Actually, the content goes well beyond Furthest’s walls and offers everything we need for a campaign in Tarsh (gazetteer, maps, cults, bestiary, movers-and-(obviously)shakers, new rune spells, etc.), highlighting the kingdom’s symbiosis between its Orlanthi past and the Lunar way. Here you understand why many people in Sartar welcomed the Empire! The book builds on one of the very best productions of the golden age of Gloranthan fanzines, Tarsh in Flames (The Unspoken Word, vol. 2), bringing it up to speed with the current post-Dragonrise context (even in small details like its impact on Furthest’s markets). One can only hope that the third issue of The Unspoken Word, In Wintertop's Shadow could benefit from the same glorious update. Furthest: Crown Jewel of Lunar Tarsh is a must-buy, must-read, and even more a must-play!

This 150+ page sourcebook covers Furthest's history, politics, religion, governance, and clans, as well as providing plenty of wonderful art work to inspire adventures and encounters. The sourcebook is a well laid out walking tour of Furthest, celebrated as the glory of Lunar Provices.

Furthest is a huge city of diverse people, cultures, and faiths, but none more so than those inspired the Lunar Empire. It’s a melting pot divided into seven districts, from the massive and legendary Barbarian's Gate that faces Dragon Pass, to the magical Royal Palace atop the Acropolis inspired by the Dreaming City of the Red Emperor.

Each district lists several important locations and prominent NPCs, from the teeming markets of the Phargentine Way, to the Grand Theatre of the Eastern Quarter. The grandious Port of Furthest is filled with many sites to see, like the Temple of Oslira run by Bettira the Blue, a young woman with many stories to tell. Furthest is presented as a rich and dynamic gem that will leave you wanting to experience.

Fleshing out the this sourcebook is a good chunk of information on Lunar Tarsh, as well as several pages on the land beyond Tarsh for historical reference points. Clan and family information is here as well, which helps readers connect with the greater overall picture of the region.

This sourcebook also digs into the animals and beasts found in the region, including The Hydra of Dragon Pass, plus other creatures to keep your players on their guard. Several scenario seeds await to inspire you, as well as a multi-page adventure. The sourcebook contains a useful index and several full color maps (including one of the sewer system!) for player and gamemaster alike.

It's five stars from me for this inspired production!
