A very good book, detailed rules and tables on magic items, equipment, random tables, economics, alchemy etc. A lot more in here than I thought. I gave it four stars for the above and left out one star because of the artwork.

Some of the artwork inside the book is good, a lot of it not so. The cover art is cartoonish to me and does not at all reflect the quality of the game. The old books I have from the 80's have far superior art work, like Campaign law, creatures and treasures and the companions. I didn't expect Angus Mc bride artwork to be on the books but I didn't expect this either, I'm left wondering how that artwork got on the cover and from what I have read I am not the only one.

Excellent spell lists, solid rules that work around them and interesting professions. The only thing letting this down as well as core law is the artwork. Looking at the old rolemaster and especially the Harp cover art had more character in my opinion. The cover art for RMU is a puzzling choice indeed. Basically I love the rules but are a little disappointed each time I pick the book up and look at the cover.

Very good book, things have been added that improve the realism of the game and make it interesting reading. Artwork quite disappointing, otherwise I would have rated it 5 stars.

Great quickstart rules, but really hoping on the magic side of things to have more offensive spells that can make a wizard tougher and more playable at lower levels, like AD&D.

Does it include the smooth stat bonus distribution? I cannot seem to find it.
