Another good scenario from Graham Theo.
For a quick and potentially nasty scenario for modern times this leads to a number of openings for it being a campaign starter. I bought this purely because i know Graham wrote another scenario i enjoyed and thought i would support his new effort.... but as i read in to this it was based around where i am from and had a number of links to places i had been... instantly i was invested but in order to give a fair and impartial feedback i will ignore these links between myself and the scenario (Serously folks, its as if he was following me around.. surely not, that would be ludicrous and a total drain of sanity...still...)
The set up is simple - a local small settlement is suffering from severe earth tremors (the setting is in the North of England but could as easily be anywhere) and the local populace are blaming a Fracking company for the disturbances.. now that the government has put a temporary ban on the area conducting Fracking activities the investigators are brought in to see what truth any of the rumours holds... but you will have to be quick as the company is moving to lift the ban and start operations with renewed energies.
The details uncovered lead to a wider story of ley lines and ancient powers... deep undersea events and cover ups... As well as a pleasing denoument where the end of times may just possibly be started into effect...
My only concern with this game is that it is set mainly in the modern era and works best due to the technology required for the progression of the storyline. That doesn't mean iot cannot be played as either classic or gaslight but that it would take a lot more converting to fit the scale of those eras and the types of mining etc that leads to the triggers.
