this supplement is the cat's meow! much creativity here. everything from cute and cuddly to big and deadly. A cat for every occasion! and rules for unique familiar versions of these cats was also a good idea.

This is an excellent source book for beginner GMs. I am using it as the focus for my current campaign. System Neutral, so just drag and drop this lovely little city setting into the rule system or campaign of your choice. provides just enough lore and setting info to make the place feel alive and gives you room to expand. lots of adventure hooks provided to get your game going. the city's economy revolve around alchemy, so if you want to lean into that aspect more pick up The Tome of Alchemy as well!

this setting book is inspired by old Mesoamerican myths and cultures. The book does an excellent job of building up the mythology and cultural groups within this setting while being respectful of the real world sources. it is definitely recommended to play as characters native to the island rather than outside explorers. Note: if you are sensitive to the idea of offering sacrifices to divine figures, particularly human sacrifice, this is handled tactfully. The subject is not front and center but rather used as background info to inform on the societies of the island and their relationship to the gods. topics liked armor and technology development ina metal poor environment is quite interesting and works for a fantasy game.

An open ended sandbox style adventure. offers good opportunity for exploration without assuming any set outcome for the adventure. challenging random encounters, players will need multiple short and long rests. great potential for the players to return to this location time and again.

I like the changes to how stat blocks are presented with Black Flag Roleplay guidelines. takes out unnecessary text and the inclusion of a "passive stealth" score is useful. I know art is a bigger expense for RPG books, but would have been nice to have less recycled art work from other books. thats the only thing keeping this from being a perfect 5. The various monster tables that are typically in the appendix are at the front of the book, I appreciate this change.

there is So Much Content in this book its staggering. you will probably never use it all, but you'll also never run out of content to drag and drop into your campaign. This is A Mega dungeon for sure. the map provided to show how the main dungeons are connected to all the side chambers is overwhelming. If I were to run this for my players I would just stick to the main route. and then use all the extras as inspiration for dungeons and ruins elsewhere. Frog God Games products use a smaller font size compared to other publishers so they can squeeze in more content. not so great on the eyed but you get your money worth easy!

interesting mechanics to shake up your combat encounter. wad disappointed by the lack of artwork. I've never played a Dark Souls video game so lacking background info to really appreciate these monsters. You could google images but for the price tag it be nice to have a visual for all the monsters.

this product is a love letter to pop culture of the past few decades.
Shiny variants and corruption rules are great for breathing new life into old standard monsters. the new classes are essentially retro-cyberpunk/anime versions of the original classes but that's fine, I like the individual feel of each one. Can't wait for the Game Masters Beats to get released!

I've read through most of this product and for the most part I like what I see. I don't intend to run a game in this setting but there is plenty of material here worth using: weapon maneuver options, ley lines, new conjuration spells. many of the class options are very specific and only make sense in he contex of the Midgard setting. the cleric domains just didn't cut it for me. I might not allow ssomethings as player options, but as DM I'm totally going to build npcs with them. new races are good although in my opinion trollkin need a tweak. overall great effort by kobold press.
