This is a great alternative to traditional Battletech as well as Battletech Alpha Strike, as the rules are straigthforward and flexible. Mechs are easily created, the campaign system seems reasonable, and I can use all those wonderful BT mechs I have now in a system that is really quick to get to the table. I am not trying to put down traditional BT, but having another option that can feel similar and is also a lot of fun is most welcome!
