I enjoyed the sufficient challenge that this module had to offer The dungeoncrawl of visiting the different towers was very nice The final fight with the star spawn is sufficiently challenging as well And it was a great finale to the series of adventures leading into the epic (which we shall not talk about here) Overall, a fun adventure to play

I enjoyed the mechanics for how the fights and the far realm energies came into play The final boss was really cool with how strong it could be The wandering monster is nicely done I ran every single S10 adventure and the way that the Thuunlakalaga clan was ended here (and the unavoidable death of their leader) felt cheap. This rating reflects MORE about how the entire storyline was ended than anything.

I thoroughly enjoyed this adventure It begins with doing something unorthodox - figuring out how to travel from A to B (where B is far underwater) and shenaniganry becomes possible because of it The combats are sufficiently challenging as well as the environmental effects in the Caldera Overall, well done

This adventure sufficiently showed the kind of vibe that RMH as a campaign has to offer the mechanics for the epic were nicely crafted - and showed how getting information points to where to find Radaga There was also sufficient foreshadowing of the darker tones of RMH with the appearance of the crawling hand I would have liked for there to be more chances for fighting in this one though, as a completely RP oriented epic felt like it was too much Overall, enjoyed the adventure

I loved this jaunt around key memorable locations in DDHC-RotF. The encounters were incredibly enjoyable and sufficiently challenged the party. I particularly enjoyed how it ends: with the bomb + ritual Highly recommend playing this one

RMH-01 The Final Curtain

This is, in my opinion, a must play Tier 1 adventure because of the following

  • the beautiful twist at the end
  • not many adventures give this kind of gotcha moment
  • it's well written enough such that the DM can give hints on what is going on based on what the players perceive - without giving the reveal away

That being said, I would balance this with the overall campaign. It gets darker and more action-packed later on. Having an initial adventure be as RP heavy as this could discourage players from wanting to play the full campaign.

Regardless, this is top notch and loved it 100%

I loved everything about preparing and running this game for my friends 1) The scenery and call to action is very cool - it brings vibes from the movie while also using the known organizations in Chult to lead the players in 2) The scenes with the initial fight that only LEAD to discovering the beast is awesome, so is the story that the Chultan girl they meet tells 3) The mechanics of learning about the BBEG, finding things in the valley to use against it, and ultimately fighting it are so fun

Played the predator soundtrack while quoting the movie with my friends all night and it was a blast. "Old Painless" is what we named the repeating crossbow. 10/10 amazing module.

Incredibly enjoyed running this adventure for my 4-year old. The encounters really are non-violent, she loved the NPCs so much that she remembered their names days after the session, and the overall theme and vibe made for a great session for her - and a great lesson for me on how to run games for kids. Solid stuff! Wish there were more titles in this series.

What I like about this adventure

  • fun and flavorful encounters. love how the mechanics of certain elements were changed here, catching players off guard and needing to rethink strategies on how to approach things.
  • hilarious flavor on NPCs and dialogue, much laughter was had at the table.
  • very creative puzzle put in, loved every part of it as did the players.
  • loved the challenging combat encounters and how fail forward conditions are put in place for extra fun. really good stuff.

What can be improved

  • formatting. some tables could have better formatting so that it fits in a page better. stat blocks moved with column breaks. rewards appendix to include fey pact and magical gift of training. DC compliant formatting for capitalization etc. none of these take away from what is a 5 star module in terms of encounter design and fun factor.

What I like about this module:
  • the story is great and the concept of the Fey domain is awesome. the module delivers an emotional punch at the end, well done. missing child, go into the Feywild to understand what is going on, and understand why the domain works in the way that it does. 5 stars.
  • the encounters are fun. a bit of combat here, some skill challenges there, a nice big jabberwock combat to top things off if the players are inclined, and a lot of opportunities for RP. 5 stars.
  • the combat encounters are appropriately balanced with no need to adjust things. 5 stars.
  • not skipping anything, the module runs to time. our group finished in 3h 50 minutes. 5 stars.
What I changed when I ran it:
  • I really LIKED the idea of Wooby the duckling. instead of running that performance as written, I took a page from Skabatha Nightshade's acting encounter and had the PCs run improv lines one after another to form a cohesive story around the concept of BITTERSWEET. Wooby gives the last line. It's easier to run improve than to have a big handout for players to read through and it was IMO more enjoyable.
  • explaining a bit of the metaphysics for why the village turned gray at the start (e.g. the village is near the Kryptgarden forest and thus is near the presence of Fey, hence the manifestation of grief in this way which is Fey-like rather than a normal quality of the Material Plane).
What could be improved (but none of this takes away from the 5 star rating)
  • spelling and formatting.
  • the way that information is presented in the writing. i would prefer that information is presented such that the DM understands the entire context sequentially rather than knowing at the end of the module why color is absent from the domain in the call to action. this makes for less flipping around pages and easier for DMs who run this cold at a con with the module beside them.
  • naming convention continuity (the fortress is called a castle in some places and a fortress in others - and synonyms don't work well in a game manuscript as precise language is important)
  • per Dungeoncraft guidelines, we are not allowed to publish two to four-hour adventures, the module needs to spell that out in plain text and be clear about whether it is 2 or 4 hours as per rewards. it can be a sidebar instead in the adventure primer that it can be run in 2 to 4 hours, with some guidance on how to adjust for module run time.

Anyone DMing this adventure needs to REALLY read the fine print on the success and fail conditions of the module.

Unlike other Tier 4 adventures, this is a skill challenge rather than a fight-packed action adventure. The goal is to get to the final location BEFORE the red wizards do. The module could've done a better job at communicating this and reminding the DM about this. Handouts could've been used to help track the advancement of the party through the locations versus the advancement of the red wizards to the end location.

It's the reason why the final fight in this adventure is on the weaker side, because making it to the end IS the success - not winning the fight which is almost guaranteed as long as you can make it there in time.

Love about the module

  • the concept and structure
  • adding exhaustion in to make the group survival checks harder, well done
  • the checks and how they foreshadow the maze mechanics in DDAL07-18

Dislike about the module

  • poor job communicating how to manage that element: the survival setback
  • lacking in handouts to help facilitate tracking the adventurers' travel

This module is by far one of my favorite T1 feywild series.

The CTA is compelling: studying fey-lines and restoring the first forest THIS module in the series is a beautiful capstone: making a choice about the fate of the first forest while actively working with the Archfey of different domains to enable the unification or destroy the unity crown

I absolutely loved the players' reactions when they learned that the archfey that had all interacted with and grown to adore would fade from existence as they are reconstituted into a new entity.

I think this is a great series, and this specific module is a really inspirational finale for it. Well done!

The adventure structure is very nicely done

  • set the scene
  • go through mini-missions much like an epic
  • tally points
  • make a moral choice

10/10. Or in dmsguild's case, 5/5!

There are so many things I love about this adventure 1) I recommend this as a DM's first T4. It's such an easy module to run, in person or online. There are built in mechanics for managing session time. It's not a T4 that will run for 6 hours. The combats are simple to run without having a dozen simultaneous effects to track. 2) The Dungeoncrawl and environmental effects there are super fun to run and very inspirational. Thank you Alan Patrick for the counterspelling lich dungeon, for building a lich lair for us to draw inspiration from, and for the 6ft high ceilings. Love everything about what you did here. 3) The final fight is a blast to run. I love smiting paladins. I REALLY love smiting paladin dragons.

Thank you for creating this wonderful adventure!

I love so many things about this adventure. It's so easy to prep and run, it's a fun story to tell, and there are so many roleplay opportunities for players. I ran this for my daughter and she enjoyed the different encounters here, as well as drawing the Centaur and the unicorn. This module has everything you could look for in a t1 module

  • depth of symbolism
  • beautiful worldbuilding
  • roleplay opportunities
  • combat opportunities
  • a touching ending

It's very well written, easy to follow, and easy to prep. If you are looking for a great adventure to run, look no further.
