This review is for the Vaults of Volokarnos adventure.
Set in a crumbling Greco-Roman style burial complex, the dungeon has that old-school Judges Guild vibe that the author is so skilled at evoking - almost an homage to Caverns of Thracia. Lots of pools, fountains, statues, tombs, puzzles, etc to engage with, along with a good mix of undead guardians and raiders/robbers. At 52 rooms, is expansive enough to support multiple forays, and foster sense of scope - it’s just big enough to get lost in.
Ideally suited as a campaign-launcher for 1st level characters. Presents some tough challenges, but they can often be evaded, bypassed, or overcome with quick thinking.
