The book does exactly what it says on the cover but I find this the weakest of the excellent Compendium series. The combat section is weaker than I hoped. Definitely buy Compendium 1 and 2 but unless you need tables? I'd skip this one and buy another Warlock! Or Fire Ruby product.

A delight to read and play. While it looks like they aren’t putting out new stuff atm, there is more than enough in this book, let alone the supporting other books to carry you.

If I can recommend ONE house rule? It’s the addition of a Will stat that starts as per Luck. Wizards can use this as an additional pool to draw from BEFORE tapping Stamina… as well as setting this up as a ‘Sanity’ mechanic.

Even without this? This game is great.

The Pundit does good work, and this is no exception. A worthy purchase at the right price that fits in with Lion & Dragon or can be readily adapted to most OSR style games.

Not gonna lie… I bought this out of curiosity and at first just chalked it up as another OSR clone… but on closer reading am impressed by its format, its approach to skills and talents, and some of the class mechanics, to say nothing of its combat chapter, which while is OSR fare, is very comprehensive WITHOUT being complex.

Worth every penny for OSR fans - even if you don’t use the book as its own RPG, you will find much of use.

Excellent product and great design/format! I wish they had the SCAG and XGTE spells and apparently its missing some other spells but maybe these will be included later. Looking at the quality of the product I have faith in the designer
