While I do not run Werewolf, I'm always looking for NPCs to add to my Mage game and the idea of the "All - American Family with secrets" intrigued me. Also, Pentex is a great villianous corporation for any campaign.

The artwork is solid and layout is great. The book itself incorporates various different types of supernaturals to make up the family which I think adds a nice level of difficulty for the PCs. The charater write ups are also well documented, listing the book and page numbers for each gift, etc, which is absolutely epic.

The writing style is easy to understand for non-Werewolf Players/Storytellers with a focus on plot driven narrative for the NPCs and only a limited need to check the White Wolf Wiki, plus it has a classic 90's White Wolf tone to it.

My only complaint is that the email from the teenage girl character, Krissy, was a bit hard to follow, but I guess you could argue that makes it more realistic.

Solid 4/5 stars. TL;DR New twist on classic villians for any WOD splat.

((We have two review posted below from two different play groups))

The First Team presented here is an homage to several horror-explotitation cliches molded into an effective squad against Gaian Forces courtesy of Slaugtherhose Video. The book presents several options to incorporate this First Team in an ongoing Chronicle in the form of official Pentex documents and transmissions. The section detailing the members of the Team gives us their stats alongside the way they were built (with book references for templates and powers) alongside descriptions on new powers and arguments for altering existing ones.

This First Team exploits the cliches of the classic American Nuclear Family in the name of the Wyrm, the members beign an assorted variety of horrors specialized in “investigating, neutralizing and adquiring asorted supernatural entities that catch PENTEX attentions while undercover as the Ideal Family. We love that the ideas for using them in a Chronicle are provided in the form of a corporate memo. The members of the First Team are created with the process explained alongside book and page references, alongside ideas to alter them. An interesting Team that can be used and adapted to suit the needs of several Chronicles.

A really fun supplement, with a terrifying team of surburbanites to absolutely wreck a werewolf pack's day. This is the sort of stuff that I would have really appreciated back when I was a WW ST, a ready made group of antagonists which easily fit into a campaign.

Honestly, the only thing I'd look for this is some story seeds for bringing them into conflict with a PC pack as a group and individually.

This book is the bomb.com

1000% reccomended for any ST needing a little extra spice in their Werewolf game (cough cough ME. Me needs all the spice). This is a very compact piece, but it packs a damn punch. Hoping to see more of these.

I think this is the same guy who does those D&D tweets, which explains a lot.

Full Disclosure: Longtime fan of the author, I did however actually purchase this.

NOTE: References ‘W20: Book of the Wyrm’ not strictly necessary, but improved mileage.

I haven’t read, bought, or played a WW game in almost 2 decades, but when Boomer posted this, I knew it’d be worth taking a look at. Instead of a cookie cutter group of Humpty Dumpties with big guns, the All-American Nuclear Family is full of interesting pieces to challenge players. Five unique characters running the full spectrum of Pentex baddies have been shoved together, into a barely functional ball of terror. Each has their own goals, strengths, weaknesses, and feelings on the other members of the team. The four plot hooks are solid, and also provide a good set of starter templates to make additional ones yourself.

This is a deeply odd, packed-full-of-flavor, helluva good time supplement. It is organized well. It reads well. It is rule-of-cool personified. I'm going to be riffing on this for a good long while.
