This is my go to one shot for introducing new players to D&D, they always have a blast and its got a great setup for potential campaign hooks. Love it to death.

As far as 1-2 hour lvl 1 introductory adventures go, this one is different and packs a lot into the time frame. I really enjoyed running it, but it does rely a decent amount on the DM filling in the scene. I could see why some people, especially newer DMs, might have trouble with it. If the DM struggles the players will to. DMs that are used to sandboxes though, will find this leaves a lot of comfortable space to create a unique to party playthrough. Also has some of the best rewards for a level 1 you can find if that's important to you.

I was very happy it came with a printer friendly version.

I've been running a set of DCs for my friends, all of whom have been playing AL for years. This module was prescibed for two hours, but we concluded our session within one hour.

I thought my players tried their best to RP a lot and fill the time, but honestly there isn't much to do here. We felt the story and activities presented in the module were kind of thin. Putting a timer to get to the bottom, only for so little obstacles to be presented meant that the players were compelled to finish this module quickly, without doing much at all. It doesn't help that there were effectively two combats, both of which were optional, one of which was farfetched to even occur to begin with. I tried to spice it up by adjusting the encounters so that ther ewas at least a little more RP opportunity, but even then I found this module wanting.

A great adventure! Everyone had a great time. This one was a lot more sandboxy than the other two that I've tried of the introductory WBW-DC, which is not a criticism of either you nor them.

The other adventures told these very emotional stories, and guided you along.

This is a fun romp and a race in a totally unexpected way! You had all sorts of little details that the players picked through and checked out, and they made the story their own. That's a great sign, when there's enough that the DM looks at the adventure and tries to figure out "How exactly did this happen?" It all fits, but ... Not at all what I expected, and that's great.

We had a bunch of players riding rats that they spoke to through Speak with Beasts, disrupting a dinner crowd, and doing a little bit of everything in a chaotic jumble, laughing the entire time.

One statement, that is not a criticism, is that this one can be a little short if you have players that want to "get down to it." If that's what they want, though, that's what they can get. :) Because the players that want to roleplay and have a great time have plenty enough things to investigate and check out.

Thanks for a fun evening! So far every one of the WBW-DC-FDC series has been a great time!

When reading this adventure, I instantly noticed how easy it was to read and digest. It's premise is a fun one and can help set up a future run in the Feywild for adventurers. It exposes the players to the nuances of the Feywild without the dire consequences that may come for some. As my players recounted their tale at the end, I encouraged each of them to share one thing that they "highlight" in their telling of their tale. One recounted befreinding a rat that helped them, two spoke of the plant that tried to teach them something but that they had to teach a lesson to. Finally, a player shared that they learned how important hospitality was to their dialogue and will be to their future adventurers in the Feywild. If I have to pick out something to balance this raving review, I would point out that the template of the REWARDs page leads you to believe that the treasure is found, vice presented at the end. But that is easily overloooked for what was a great time and great design! Great Job!

An absolute joy of a romp and a very well designed book with more than enough detail for everything. My only complaint was about the layout of the map and how some of the moves from room to room made little sense.

A lovely Introduction module, that allows for DM flair and ingenuity, a nice contained setting, and excellent way to introduce those new to D&D, great module for all ages. A beautiful tavern and an excellent and sexy Ember King. I wish there was some maps for the tavern, i made some imperfect ones free for anyone to use. If you wish to have access to them you can find me/tag me at the AL section of the D&D Beyond Dischord. AeonSage#4005.
