Impressive systems and procedures to play solo but also with any scifi rpg that you own. There are so many good ideas to generate plots, encounters, tension, inspirations, mission, exploration…

The system is clearly explained and oftensupported with examples of play session.

The different campaigns are probably my favorite section since it give clear procedures to generate the mission supported with specialized tables. This is excellent work and useful for any dungeon master/mother for alien rpg, stars without number or Hostile/Cepheus engine game.

The complete book is inspiring! Now, It sould be a grim dark fantasy version or cthulu version of that book anytime!

Thansk Paul!

This is an excellent adventure for low-level characters. You have a lot of adventure for 2-3 sessions: it has a good story, good encouters, simple and efficient wildness exploration, good social and roleplay encounters.

The concept is simple but well crafted: a small village has a problem and the heroes are invited help. What makes this adventure great is that everything is connected: on a small wilderness map, all the locations have an encounter and it's connected somehow to the adventur. The encounters are good and fit the storyline (swamp creature: goblins, lizardmen, giant frogs to name a few...). And almost all situations offer roleplay and social interaction to either avoid combat and gather information.

There are really good ideas in this adventure (the cult of a dead dragon, a mute ranger who knows a lot, a lizardman who prefer to parlay, a camp with a prisonner who wants to run away but can explain a lot, a small cultist leader who is hiding something...).

On the topic if magical items, there are plenty to find if the group take the time to search and succeed in getting them (almost like puzzles).

I wish a sequel or a campaign could be designed for level 3-5 after this one!

Highly recommended.

Bonepicker's Tower

Highly recommended for level 2-4 charactes if you like a well crafted adventure with some wildness exploration, 2-3 dungeon crawling location with around 10 locations to explore.

The story is centered around a curse that happened a long time ago and the tower is ruined and there are 2 or 3 monsters or group of monster that prey or are hidden in the area... The background is simple to handle and it has an horror/surreal element thats make it special and original. Some encounters can be resolved with social skills which leave room to learn more about the mysteries arount the curse or for future alliance.

Throught out the book, all the descriptions are just enough to capture the ambiance, it tells you what is important and how event unfold, and it is not too wordy. The adventure is open ended and starts with a few hooks to get the player characters motivated. What I especially like it's how everything is interconnected. The designer has put pieces here and there, and explains how they are related. In play, it's up to the player to see the hints/cues on how they can use them or not. There are also NPCs that could help players along the way to better understand what happened or reminds them of missing clues. I appreciate the random encounters table which has a description for each one. It gives a background and meaning behind their presence. I find it inspiring. There is also a 1 page summary for all the monsters stats and special abilities. Again, well organized.

This adventure is well though out, the design is clean and not over complexe. It's inpired and easy to modify. The adventure is around 22 pages with around 6 pages of maps and annexe. You may need a home town/village for the players to rests and deals with the locals.

This is exactly what I was looking in a S&S adventure. It has the grim, dark and seriousness that I like about S&S. The adventure is well written with enough back story in every location to help a DM run it and make it feel real. There is room for improvisation but I quite satisfied with the level of details the designer put in every location. My group of player like that kind complexity in an adventure (conan meet sherlock holmes) and where they have options (to fight, sneak, do research, interogate NPC, mysteries, lore...). The adventure is inspiring and will help me run the game without extra work. It's solid and overall it looks like an excellent adventure. I'm running a Low Fantasy Gaming game. I will be quite easy to adapt since both have in common the 5e rule and similar ambiance. I'm checking all the next adventures by Xoth Publishing!
