T. A. Newman's first published scenario, 'The Prisoner's Dilemma' is a testament to its author's dedication. It is a juicy piece of reading, greatly complemented by Holly Chadwick's apt horror illustrations. The props, created by PropsWithInkDrops are on point, and Eon Images' work makes the plans of the HMP Dartmoor look like the work of a professional architect's office.
Newman's writing style is evocative and has an horrific flair that will help players and Keepers alike in depicting their environment. If you are fond of 'boxed' text, you will find that most of the map entries come with an abundance of them. As a Keeper, I'm more of the 'paraphrase it' school, but I still have to tip my hat to the work and love that went into it.
There are some very strong horror scenes, notably the original and varied depiction of creatures, and these made me shudder deliciously.
I'd have liked a page-by-page layout instead of a double-page one, however. It would have greatly improved PDF readability for me. Mind you, the map folio probably explains the author's choice of layout.
