AE PHB is one of the most invaluable products I use on the Fantasy Grounds platform and, for me, that's saying a lot considering my library of modules is nearly 600 individual items and my games run using roughly ~80 extensions.

The Automatic Effect series of modules saves the DM (and players) and tremendous amount of time while also making the game more fun and accurate by automatically handling all of the code for spells, abilities, items, etc. in the official WoTC books/products.

Furthermore, the Grim Press team goes out of their way to keep their products updated and are available to offer help and/or answer questions about their products.

As a side note to the people on the fence trying to determine whether or to purchase this line of product or the similar spell code series from Rob2e, I'd highly suggest the Grim Press line. The code is objectively superior and Grim Press' customer service is hands-down much better. Oh, and, collectively, the AE line is cheaper, too.

Quality coding and a polite, responsive coder make for an excellent combination. This product saves me lots of time, especially when paired with Equipped Effects from the Fantasy Ground's Forge. Be sure to watch the excellent video that demonstrates the power of this great pair.

This extension is quality! The code works well, and where the vagaries of Fantasy Grounds make things more difficult, there's clear documentation on how to make it work.

Together with Equipped Effects it's just pure gold. It can do a lot of things, but one is that it really enhances the experience of using lighting. My players were delighted the first time they equipped a torch and it gave their character light on the map. But that was nothing compared to the time someone cast faerie fire and the NPCs actually lit up, helping the party members without darkvision to see their enemies.

Of course that's how faerie fire is supposed to work... but having it actually work that way in the software removes a certain level of abstraction and is just, at the end of the day, extremely cool.

If people have questions or issues, the authors of both this extention and Equipped Effects are active on discord to provide advice to users.

Having gotten used to playing with it, I'd never ever want to go back.

As a DM this product, along with all of the other 5E Auto Effects books in the bundle save so much time when it comes to coding spells and abilities. When combined with the Equipped Effects it's pretty much a must have for any game I run. Most of my players are there to enjoy the game and have fun, not learn all of the syntax for making effects so their skills works. This makes it so they can just drag and drop those skills, on the rare occasion that they don't get added automatically. It also gives much more complete coding for a lot of skills and abilities that would normally need things added to them if they were only using the vanilla fantasy grounds. 5 stars all the way and will definitely be getting any new 5E auto effects packages when new books are released.

First off, Grim Press has a great team - very polite and friendly, and giving great service and value to their products. I've gotten all of the Automatic Effects packages so far, and they have been a great timesaver for me and my players. All the coding for items and spells is already done for you, and if you use it alongside the Equipped Effects extension, makes the effects truly automatic - adding effects and removing them as items are equipped and unequipped, for example. Great product, and a great value!

What a great timesaver this has been. As DM would rather focus on running the game rather than setting up Fantasy Grounds it has been a life saver. It did everything I needed for the character set ups including traits, class features and spells. It made levelling up much quicker too. Has good instructions on how to use and the video is very useful too. Finally, the author was very helpful on discord answering my rookie questions.

This has made life so much easier as a DM. It is another step forward in automating character sheet set ups and in-game mechanics, letting the DM focus on improvising, storytelling, strategic thinking and responding appropriately to players. Installing this is easy. It would be great if this is able to be updated via the FGU update button but I can completely understand if the OBS portal is the only way given licencing arrangements.

I have been using the 5e Automatic Effects Players Handbook since release day and this alongside SilentRuins Equipped effects has saved hours of preperation and character creation time. The on going support given for all of the bundle is outstanding with the ability to pick up only the books you require. The coding logic is sound and easy to follow and my players and I could not reccomend it enough.

I purchased the 5E Automatic Effects bundle about a month ago and I am still barely scratching the surface of its usefulness. Like most Fantasy Grounds Extensions, it takes a little getting used to but once you do, it is a major time savor. As an older DM, I look to take my campaign and players to new levels without making the game more cumbersome. The automation that these extensions offer in FGU makes that possible. Another thing to mention is that the support for these products is excellent. You can usually talk to the coders on Discord whenever you run into a problem, if not, then someone in the community will likely help out.

Great product. Great support. Would definitely buy again. I also recommend some of their other extensions. Equipped effects works great with this and combined will add new dimensions to your game.

The 5e Automatic Effects Series is very well-organized and very well-written. It works amazingly with Silent Ruin's Equipped Effects extension (which I also highly recommend). This automates the effects of spells and magic items and a whole lot more, organizing the information not only on the character sheet but in the combat tracker. This really makes a lot of things easier, and the way it works makes using FGU so much easier. I have the entire series and I honestly recommend the whole bundle.

The 5e Automaic Effects for the player’s handbook are the best effect codes for anyone who does not want to waste the time making their own. They are very new player friendly. The best part of the module is the npcs. Some spells like Spiritual Weapon need a token of sorts, the module comes with one where you just need to edit the details in the NPC stat block. It has everything that the player’s handbook has, so no need to buy more then what you have.

Part of the allure of Fantasy Grounds was to bring DnD into the digital world and make it easy and accessible. While Fantasy Grounds does a good job of getting closer to that goal, there are still things things that are cumbersome -- and adding all of the spells, actions, traits and features to your character is one of them. The built in parser does an ok job, but there is so much more that can be automated and extended. This extension does exactly that. Rather than having to learn all of the effects language myself as a DM, I can spend more time actually running the game and letting Automatic Effects take care of the hard work. The players love having everything at their fingertips and on nights when they level up, we don't spend half the session trying to get new actions added to their character sheet and making sure they work properly. It's nice to have everything covered which exists inthe source book. Front to back, if the players saw an ability or spell in the PHB, we know that we can find an automatic effect for it. Great module for any DM to have.
