It is a very enlightening book about how we can create our homebrew content so that it feels like it fits the second edition. Very easy to read, and I loved it in every way!

Blood Sorcery: Rites of Damnation

It's a really good update for the rules presented in Sacraments and Blasphemies and it fixes the biggest problem that that book had: Room for abuse and creation of really really broken rituals.

With these updated rules, the authors converted the extended action cast from sacraments and blasphemies into a single roll with bonuses and penalties, which is more similar to what you find in Mage the Awakening.

After playing for a while I think that it might need a few tweaks here and there, especially in the way Risk is weighted and also maybe adding that the rituals start with potency or duration equal to the caster's level on the ritual discipline, which is something mages have...

But still, this is definitely a "must-have" kind of book because just like Sacraments and Blasphemies, it will completely change the way you play Vampire the Requiem!

Creator Reply:
I've pondered giving Risk another pass, to clear it up a bit. Maybe make it a single 'stage' instead of the base pool versus modifier distinction. As for the Potency/Duration thing, though, you DO get free steps equal to the theme, but you can freely split them up, rather than having it be based on the ritual. So, if you have, say, Divination 4, you could add 2 steps to Potency and 1 to Duration, or just add 3 to Potency (putting you at 4), for a Divination ritual. As opposed to Mage, where it would all go to either Potency or Duration. Otherwise, thanks for the feedback!

I really loved this splat! The concept is great, and the idea of playing "Doctor Who" as an immortal time-jumping thing is amazing!

Demon Translation Guide

A totaly must have if you, like me, didn't liked the whole technology thing from the God Machine Chronicle. My complaints are two: The translation guide from Vampire the Masquerade to Vampire Requiem where better organized.

THEY DON'T HAVE CONVERTED CHARACTER SHEET to use The Fallen on the Descent system. So you will need to print The Descent sheet and improvise.

Update:

Unfortunately, after re-reading Demon the Fallen on the old world of darkness and then trying to run a game using this one, I found myself frustrated and having to carry 3 books in my hands: The core of demon, this and then the demon the descent. And not only that, but the organization here is terrible and many mechanics are missing explanation. They didn't even tell how to convert the fact that in apocalyptic form a demon can absorb lethal damage as bashing and I had to come up with a way based on what I know from playing Vampire the Requiem. Temporary/Permanent Torment and Faith? They converted it as breaking points and some sort of power attribute that completely destroys the original way it was conceived on the first book and again, I had to come up with a way to fill the gap and bring those things back.

If you want to run a demon the fallen game, this book will offer you a shortcut, but keep in mind that you'll need to do some heavy lifting to make it work.

Chronicles of Darkness: Dark Eras 2

The book structure is a mess, the new merits and covenants and other powers are all over the place. Something I used to love about the Chronicles of Darkness (First Edition) is the fact that we could just come up with our own stories and the books were attachging more to the system instead to the meta-plot. And on this book, there are a lot of space that could have been used to expand rules for playing in medieval times that were used to add stories and lore that doesn't have much of a use if you are creating your own. I really like some of the new powers and merits here, but the way the book is organized and the amount of content that doesn't have use if your intention is just to get more information and mechanics on how to run a game in medieval times, this book is not enterely worth it.
