I really wanted to like this I really did. The idea is great and the stories are kinda fun, itsa broken down really really well into tiers, what lands they take place in the levels of the adventures, monster break downs and so on and so forth i really really love that and the idea of it.
Unfortunately it falls short on a couple of aspects and had i known this i probably wouldnt have gotten it.
I initially got this as i am running 2 seperate Ravenloft Campaigns and love getting more and more things that i can use for the players. I am running both of them on roll20 and hope to run a third one on tabletop.
The maps are ok some are much better than others (some are full color and others just plain B&W). They really are not well designed for online play, some of the maps are really really big and they are not optimized size (there is a map that is almosrt 200MB). It states in the description compatible with roll20 it really isnt, i have had to resize a lot of images and then trying to set them up is turning into a nightmare .
Also many of the large maps have only small areas that are actually maps the rest of it is just blank space....why may a map 50x50 and only use a section in the middle with nothing else around the outside.
There are parts that talk about encounters that you have but no actual map that you can run the encounter on.
Yes i know that the major problem is maps but when you are trying to play a game online you really need the maps to help you out. and the ones that they do provide fall short for me.
I would say that if you plan on running it online dont, its not worth it but if you want to run it on tabletop it could be really cool.
