I very much enjoyed this adventure, it felt user friendly and yet it was still challenging but still allowed us to cut loose and have fun with it! Highly Recommend!

"A Hell of a Party" is not your standard kill the enemy/take their loot style of adventure. It feels like a Mission Impossible episode. Recive the briefing, make a plan, outfit your party, execute, and hope your plan works! Stealth and charisma are what are required to successfully navigate a Stygian summit between the three Dark Lords and live to tell the tale. If you find yourself rolling for initialtive, things have gone south in a spectacular fashion.

This adventure rewards planning, roleplaying, and above all creativity. DMs will likely be making more than a few rulings as their players concoct cunning plans to disrupt the summit (and maybe dig up some blackmail dirt as well).

Full disclosure, I was one of the editors for this adventure, and played through it at the virtual DES this year.

This was a delightful change of pace from the games I'm used to playing. The adventure focuses on social encounters, which I personally have not had many. So many of the events of the party give a great guideline on how to host a social encounter. I definetly want to borrow some of the frameworks so I can introduce them in my future adventures.

It was also a lot of fun coming up with creative ways of wreacking havoc, that isn't just swinging swords or casting fireballs. I felt like there was a lot of room for freedom and exploration in the setting provided, which was also one I hadn't seen before. While some may be turned off to the limited combat approach, I felt like there was a ton to do and plenty of suspense to keep the party engaged all night.
