I love this mod. The author does an amazing job in creating stunning visuals with very good narrative descriptions. I had a pleasure being immersed in this domain! This is a must buy for any RP heavy DM, as I think that there are few mods out there that can match the level of narration used in this one. 10/10!

Thank you! Couldn't have done it the narrative descriptions and stunning visuals without my amazing editor. Really appreciate the review! |

Personally not a fan of this Tier 4 module. It has a lot of exploration that doesn't really add to the overall storyline. There's an interesting mechanic involving golems, but I feel that it protects the players too much. The final battle is a major slog fest, which I'm really not a fan of. Overall, it's a decent module but it has to go through several variations.

This is an interesting mod which I find essential to the DRW storyline, and sets up an amazing "Who Dunnit" if you plan on running the Tier 4 DRW mods (Wings of Death & Harrowing of Hell). Aside from that, the mod gives a lot of opportunities for dungeon masters to craft the combat around them. The mod will definitely lean more towards the Investigation and lore aspect of D&D. So I recommend running this for players who've played any SKT story line as it explores a lot of details with King Hekaton, Princess Serissa, and Maelstrom.

A Dragon's Breath is one of the most heart warming tales of all time. Personally one of my favorite Tier 1 Adventures that sets the tenor for an adventurer's journey. There is a lot of heavy RP, and a ton of feels.

I've been a major fan of the writers ever since this dynamic duo made the amazing Neverdusk Trilogy. So you can imagine my excitement when I saw that the two were collaborating on another trilogy together!
One thing I noticed about the writers is that their NPCs are very compelling. The mod is written in such a way where the character’s decisions really matter. As an RP heavy Dungeon Master, I had a field day with this mod. The characters are pushed in a situation where they have to make compelling decisions, which will absolutely have consequences down the road.
The combat is intense as well. Players will need to be smart, and find creative solutions to get through them safely. What’s cool about this mod is that the RP of the players can really affect the combat. So I was pleasantly surprised to see that as well.
10/10, I think that this is another masterpiece, and I would be happy to run this mod any day!

I like this challenge, and had a fun time. My only recommendation is to make the questions based more on concepts rather than technical terms used in the book. But otherwise, I enjoyed it.

Very worth it. I loved running these for my players. My favorites are "The Waystop" and "In Good Company". I was pleasantly surprised to see the different themes of each mod. They’re all standalone adventures, and perfect for new groups. Still a very big fan of the RPSG series!

I ran all the RPSG (Tier 1) Mods, and I can confidently say that this (along with “The Waystop”) is really one of the most well written in my opinion. It has a really good back story, and really compelling characters that will really make you feel for the NPCs. The encounters are really creative. From a DM’s perspective, I truly enjoyed running them. The final battle was great, and it would really be something that would make a memorable encounter for the players. Finally, I love the maps! They’re included in the mod, and look amazing. I had a blast running this mod! It’s definitely up there with my favorite T1 mods.

This is a combat heavy mod which places the players in a burning forest, and leaves them trying to find a way to stop it. It’s a very straightforward and action packed mod that has a bunch of exciting fire themed encounters to look forward too. I believe this is Jonathan Tan’s first time as a lead writer, and he did a great job in world building. This is a good module to run for experienced players, who are making another T1 character, because the combat can definitely challenging.
Although, I think that the overall storyline leaves a lot more to be desired in terms of roleplay. I think that finding the druids, and just so happen to see them performing the ritual is too convenient. I think adding a social encounter would really round out the mod. The chase scene is (in my opinion) underwhelming, so I would recommend changing up the dice results.
Overall, I would definitely run this action packed module again. I think players will really get a kick out of it.

If I am not mistaken, this is Petrina Ho's first time as the lead writer of a mod. Kudos to her! It’s a fairly straightforward mod to run, with encounters that can be bypassed if the players try hard enough. The combat is interesting – the monsters synergize very well together. This is personally a mod that I would show to new players, as it explores all three pillars of play quiet well. Murder Hobos will have the tables turned on them. So it would encourage players to think outside the box.
I do wish that they improved on Anya’s storyline though. The background has a lot of information about her, but I feel that it was mostly a setup for a sequel that didn’t feel too relevant to the overall module. I would personally scrap that portion of the storyline. But otherwise, it’s a quick two hour mod with an interesting gameplay. That in itself I believe deserves a good rating.

Spoiler Free Review of CCC-RPSG-04: The Waystop
I am a huge fan of Jason Koh. he is truly a very talented writer. I purchased this mod expecting it to be something similar to his amazing Neverdusk Trilogy. But was very pleasantly surprised to learn that it has a very different theme and structure. This is a horror, thriller, and suspense themed mod that really takes elements of our favorite horror movies. Players will be on their toes the entire time.
This is an RP Heavy mod. Combat is fairly brief, but absolutely not easy. It's well constructed to a point where the combat compliments the theme rather than overwhelms it (which tends to be the case in several mods).
There is a lot of Player and DM freedom in The Waystop. Once you have a good understanding of the mod, you can more or less just throw it away and be surprised with what the players do. This makes it more fun for the DM to run, because even the players will end up surprising you!
All in all, I'm ranking this mod very high in my compendium. It's now one of my all time favorite T1 mods that I think players will really get a kick out of.
I consider this to be a MUST BUY for any RP Heavy DM.

The story has a lot of sweet elements to it...despite the setting and has a wholesome conclusion to the amazing conclusion to the Heroes in Nine Hells trilogy. Although the combat is definitely something to look forward to, I would label this mod as RP heavy because of the deep stories and connections that they can make with certain NPCs.
If you've already played Minauros Unchained and Stygia Untamed, this will be a MUST PLAY for your character. The storyline is just that good!

I really like this mod. I personally found the exploration elements of this trilogy to be really intense, and has fostered my love for exploration mods in general. This is one of my signature T2 mods that I would happily run in a heartbeat!

I honestly love this mod, but it took me a while to learn how to love it. A dungeon crawl without a map was very difficult to run. I did make my own, but I don't think it did justice to the overall story as I had to make a lot of adjustments to make the map work. The BBEG is by far my favorite boss fight, I loved the mechanics. She is easily a crowd favorite!

This is really one of my favorite T2 mods. I love the whole story, and how it connects to the Clover Group series. The traps setup are very interesting, and have a lot of huge benefits. I loved the BBEG. It's gonna be something that my players will remember for the rest of their D&D lives hahaha
