I had fantastic time running this scenario over two sessions. It was great to encounter several beasties from the Bestiary and experience how they can be so effectively incorporated into a thrilling short scenario with a fairly straight forward premise. The attention to detail with all of the Newtling villagers and the opponents was really evocative, and the author's own illustrations gave a cohesive feel to the proceedings. The horror elements contrasted deliciously with cute newtlings. I was fortunate to have a Scottish player in my party, as I was corrected on the pronunciation of brollachan, there I was thinking it was just another yokai. Perhaps that is what I love the most about Glorantha, without looking everything up it is possible to discern myths from all manner of cultures, and still feel they belong in the world.
If you are a GM with a party of adventurers passing a marsh in Sartar or somewhere suitably peaty, you are guaranteed a fine session or two of Newtling tribe related excitement in Bog Troubles.
