This pack contains great maps for a daytime ruined and a refurbished Trollskull Manor, and roleplaying-related content for GMs to use, including fleshed out NPCs, tavern menu items, and more. However, as Trollskull Manor is meant to be fully customizable, it would have been great if individual assets (like specific beds and other furnishings) were also included so players could customize the manor more. It would also help to have a Roll20 version that contains each floor together on the same map. It would also be nice to have nighttime versions of the manor, especially since if players reopen the taproom as a bar/restaurant nighttime is when they are likely to see most activity.
Still, these are definitely among the best resources for the manor online. I hope Heroic Maps does maps and resources for Trollskull Alley's shops too: those areas are badly in need of fleshing out the NPCs, and interior maps for those areas would be great to have.

Four great maps in one value set; this is great for fantasy campaigns!

This is a great map for Theros or fantasy-themed campaigns, and great value as it includes smaller interior maps. I wish some of the puzzle-related map interiors showed more different stages, but this is overall a great map set.

A wonderfully thematic spooky map. Good value too, with the interior maps included as well.

A small map, but great for Halloween-themed boss battles!

This is a great product. The city encounters are better designed than the others, however, with more intriguing story kernels. That said, it would be worth picking up even if the city encounters were the entirety of the product. For DMs running Theros, this is a must-buy.

This is an excellent Theros adventure. I think the red herring clues could have been cut down on a bit, and the written clues could have been Theros-ized a bit, but I liked the color puzzle included, and the dungeon has some nice open-endedness to it. If you are running Theros, this is a must-buy.

An excellent ancient Greek-inspired map set. The maps are beautiful, and the night version is spectacular. For anyone running Theros or Odyssey of the Dragonlords campaigns, this is a great pick.

A++ quality. This map and DM resources pack is excellent value, combining several high-quality maps that match the descriptions in the adventure (and overlap with the ones in Roll20). The provision of bonus maps for areas that are not mapped in the adventure as-written is also a great touch which enhances this pack further.

The astral map is beautiful and awe-inspiring and could fit a fantasy or sci-fi adventure. Unfortunately the ethereal map has a bad blurring effect on it that makes the map seem almost like the victim of a printing error, and is a great deal more drab than the astral map.

This is a great map, but high in price for a single map. Moreover, it bears strong resemblances to other maps Heroic Maps has done, and it would have been great if the map had more variations.

The items have a lot of variety, but they are not all magic (one of them is literally a set of wax look-alike apples, with no magic properties). The items also don't always strike me as well-designed, with some having reams of text to describe the mechanics that could have been shortened to be more concise, and others with just scraps of text. I get the impression there was an emphasis on quantity rather than quality to get to 100 items.
Another major issue is the high variability of item prices in gold pieces or "sentimental value". The "sentimental value" payment system is wishy-washy and could have used some fine-tuning.
Another minor quibble is that the text is all rather close together, which makes it slightly less legible than it could be. More spacing wouldn't hurt! That said, this will certainly be helpful to Theros GMs to inspire them to create item designs or use aspects of the items here.

These realistic, beautiful maps fit nicely into Roll20 and come with gridless, gridded, and size-variant versions. Truly the best maps for this adventure (which is one of the best adventures in Candlekeep Mysteries). I also love how the creators included flavor text suggestions for other aspects of the adventure, which can help run the adventure as well.

These are detailed VTT-compatible maps that match the mansion's description in the adventure and look and feel magical, with some fun extra material like descriptions of the food, books, and cats you may find in this adventure. I have only one minor quibble, and that if you try to fit the maps for multiple levels on one page in Roll20 (to directly overlap with the maps there), you will find the maps borders overlap, obscuring parts of the mansion. You could simply place each level of the mansion on a separate map (duplicating the base Roll20 map) to circumvent that though.

Thanks for the review, Justin - glad you like the maps and the extra content :)
We do include a 'Roll20' ready set of images which directly fit over the maps in the Roll20 Module, so no overlap. Check your downloads :) |
