I was waiting for a long while for this book to come out, and at long last, it's here with us, and it is the single greatest 3rd party D&D product I've gotten my hands on, easily rivaling (and frankly surpassing) a lot of the official material in terms of quality - the art is beautiful, the writing is stellar in being both expansive yet actionable, inspiring and concise, the layout is great, and the PDF is very accessible, with full bookmarking, alt text for every image and toggleable layers.

The book delves into a lot of topics that were either left out, misrepresented, underexplored or bogged down by executive meddling in previous sourcebooks for the setting, and here in ExE, Keith is finally able to give them the spotlight they deserve, with plenty of interesting material for both players looking for new character ideas (both in mechanics including new races, subraces, subclasses and spells, and in lore) and GMs and adventure writers looking for plot hooks and new campaign concepts, monsters to use, and items to hand out.

If you've ever wanted more information on the unique Eberron cosmology, how the Last War was actually fought, what's up with nations like Droaam, the Dhakaani and the undersea denizens, or just what the hell this whole "wide magic" thing actually means or what the Blood of Vol is actually like from an unbiased perspective, this is essentially a must-buy. You don't even need to be running Eberron in 5e to make use of the majority of this book - though there is plenty of neat rules content, it is a lore and worldbuilding resource first and foremost.

I've still not fully made my way through it - it's a massive book, longer than Rising from the Last War in pure wordcount, and every page that I read inspires at least one (and often more) ideas for characters, adventures and perhaps entire campaigns, and it's well worthy of the price point. While I cannot afford it in hardcover, I am certain that it makes for a very worthy addition to any Eberron fan's bookshelf or digital library alike.

As other reviews have noted the lore and mechanics provided in this book are amazing. There so much in here and as I read I am constantly sayign "this is my favotire thing now ... but wait! Look at this other thing thats even cooler!". But beyond that, this is an incredibly well produced book easly on par if not surpassing offical WotC content. The art, the layout, the writing, the little notes that mention potential spoliers for players, and sections that help you take the abstract lore and turn it into a meaningful part of your game. It's all there. The entire team behind this book did an amazing job and I can't recomend this book enough, certainly to anyone interested in eberron, but even for people just looking for inspiration or just other content to spice up their game. 10/5

Great lore, great mechanics, great book. If you're at all interested in Eberron or setting-building in general you should pick this up.

This has every right to be in your library or on your shelf if you are a D&D fan and have Rising from the Last War. This has so many things you could want out of an Eberron sourcebook for 5th edition, and serves as an almost "part 2" to Rising from the Last War. Seriously. Get this. Get this right now.

Only part way through the book and my mind is already bubbling over with new ideas for characters and campaigns. Besides the gorgeous art (my personal favourite being the changeling giving a warforged fashion advice), the treatment of the Last War has already brought more to the table for my campaign plans than the entirety of Forge of War's dry history angle. With that, each period of Eberron's timeline, from the near-mythical Age of Demons to the recent past of Galifar, has been given "Why Does This Matter" sections full of advice and hooks to make these times relevant to the modern 988YK campaign. I felt personally affected by the description of Cyre and what was lost in the Mourning, getting a real feeling for why it was such a tragedy.

I have barely even scratched the surface of this book, yet every page gives me something new to inspire. If you're at all interested in Eberron, this is the perfect deep lore companion to Rising's introduction to the setting. Thank you and well done to everyone who worked on this fantastic addition to Eberron literature.

Exploring Eberron is the epitome of what the DMsGuild is capable of. I've ordered the hardcopy & pdf combo, and have been perusing the pdf while I wait for the hardcopy to arrive. This book is densely packed with amazing art & lore for the world of Eberron, straight from setting creator Keith Baker! Though it is not an official Wizards of the Coast product, that is an asset rather than a detriment. For the first time, Mr. Baker has been able to explore in depth the topics of the setting that WotC has not felt warranted a fullscale book release. Finally, we get detailed information on Eberron's planes, arcane munitions of the Last War, the rebel nation of Droam, and more!

And in addition to all that, Exploring Eberron showcases new player content from the same design team as Archetypes of Eberron, a gold-bestselling book of Eberron-themed subclasses, as well as additional monsters like the dreaded du'ulora quori!

If you are a fan of Eberron, there is zero reason to pass on this amazing book. It is an instant buy, hands down.
