Manual of Exalted Power: The Infernals
Publisher: White Wolf

This book was receiving horrible press amidst various forums for it's content. Not to rehash it, but (by and large) it is all wrong. Nothing in this book was anymore sensationalist than anything that has come before it.

The feel of the book is as I would expect from Exalted, and White Wolf, in general. Immersive, detailed, plot hooks abound. Some of it even rubs off as dark comedy to me (Malfeas' plans). If you enjoyed Lunars and Abyssals, this book will be a sure-fire competitor for your favorite Exalt-type. I'm still holding out for Alchemicals before I call this my favorite Exalt-type... but it's pretty darn close at this point.

Lots of new mechanics and twists on things we've seen (with things we haven't seen) make this Charm section fun to read over and over again. Graceful Wicked Masques... but better. Flexible, in every sense of the word. All the information about akumas and Green Sun Princes is spot on wonderful.

Kudos to White Wolf and their freelancers for doing a phenominal job on this book. Five stars!

Aberrant Rulebook

While I'm quite late picking up Aberrant, I still think this was another great example of the kind of games White Wolf is great at. Coming off of similar games (Scion and Exalted) made by this company, I'm no stranger to the intricate setting and the detail they go into so that immersion into this world they are offering up is fairly easy. No surprise as far as the number of moral "gray areas" and the various different groups with their agendas (hidden or not). I've come to expect a great backstory to an offering from White Wolf, and this didn't fail to deliver.

While the bulk of what Novas can do is a little limiting (compared to something like the Heroes system), it still offers plenty of room to create a being fairly unique. I would say the rest of the Aberrant/Trinity line is going to be slowly added to my list, after this one.

Scan-wise, great. No glaring issues from the scan. Good job White Wolf, and great job DriveThruRPG.
