I was REALLY impressed with this product, all of the adventures are good or excellent. In most collections of 5 (say) adventures, there are one or two that I'm sure I'll never run, but all of these got me thinking that I could use them (maybe with some changes). The art and quality of the production are gorgous, better than any Chaosium product I've seen. I am seriously thinking of buying more Stygian Fox products; they have impressed me.

This book is a good, solid collection of CoC scenarios. I bought it mostly for Seth Skorkowsky's A Mother's Love, which is one of the better scenarios in the book, though it does have some typos and it's a bit shorter than I would have hoped. The two Kingsport scenarios, Malice Everlasting and The Night War, are both fantastic, with The Night War in particular being one of the most unique and interesting CoC scenarios I've ever read. The remaining scenarios all average out to be pretty good, except for Spirit of Industry, which I just plain didn't like. It's just too slow-paced and relies too much on NPCs accompanying the investigators everywhere for my taste.

I really appreciate how all of the scenarios explore the history and details of the towns in which they take place, almost treating the town as a character in the story. There's definitely a healthy respect for and knowledge of Lovecraft's work on display here. If you need some more 1-3 session scenarios for CoC, this book is definitely worth considering.

It's worth noting though that Proof of Life and The Night War contain some pretty intense and graphic scenes, so you probably shouldn't run those two with younger players.

This is a great supplement. Every scenario is workable, and there are several which are just phenominal. The updated layout is worderful and intuitive, and the new module "A Mother's Love" has some great potential. The attention to detail is profound. All the scenarios tie into characters, locations, and events from HP Lovecraft's Arkham, Dunwich, and Kingsport, and a myriad of other modules taking place around Lovecraft Country.

I have run Wasted Youth to great effect, and I am planning to run Spirit of Industry very soon. I am preparing to run nearly every other scenario in the near future.

If, like me, you are always on the lookout for a good collection of short modules to run in one or two sessions, New Tales of the Miskatonic Valley 2nd Ed. is a great pick up.
