Fantastic Adventures: Ruins of the Grendleroot for 5e

As an aspiring DM, I found this adventure to hit on all three pillars of D&D (Exploration, Role Play, Combat). The book is broken down in easily consumable parts, the maps are straightforward, and the scenery is a fresh take that avoids 'traditional' Underdark entities.

I am running for two players (and they each use a side-kick) and so far they seem to really enjoy the adventures. Using gTove (https://illuminantgames.com/gtove) as my mapping tool and Discord for chat/talk has worked very well. The included maps import into gTove easily and character portraits and art of scenes are bonus additions.

I look forward to using the Appendices to enhance the adventures after the core stories are completed.

Having used other tools from this author, I would like to point out the high quality and thought that seems to go into Sly's creations. I have the hardback, pdf, map files, etc...and I am very pleased with the overall quality of this product.

Great adventure! The theme, environment, creatures, and all are neatly packed in this adventure. As a new DW narrator, having this guide as a tool made it easier to run first-timers through an adventure. The quality of material, talking about creatures, and explaining fronts, etc...all make for a great guide.

Two Page Mini Delve - Cave of Crystals

I was able to weave this delve into the 5E Mine's of Phandelver. I placed the cave deep under the water of Area 16 in Wave Echo Cave. The flumphs were hard to explain, being there deep underwater, but I was able to weave the crystal creature into the explanation.

Now the group is considering flooding the cave, to prevent anyone/thing from using the area again...I am thinking that if they do this, it will crush the crystals and release undead, incorporeal creatures unto the cave. Furthermore, I had Mormesk harvesting the crystals, to use the necromantic energy to fuel the forge and flip its use.

Great stuff to work with. Really enjoyed the art of the map and look forward to how my PC's will figure things out and rid the world of these evil entities. Thanks for the inspiration. Downloading more of your work and will contribute, if able.

Also, I was able to quickly capture the map in 3DVTT on my iPad and import into the campaign immediately.
