Whispers of Death: A Sourcebook for Assassin Characters

It is really cool, well worth the price!

I just can't wait until my character qualifies for the two Assassin prestige classes that I have in store for him, the Shadowstalker and the Sniper (a very cool combination, that added to his being a crossbow-wielding Thief-Acrobat).

The Elements of Magic (Original)

At first when I looked at it, I said, "Whoa, this is really changing the game!". But then, change can be a good thing.

I don't plan to run clerics, druids, rangers, or paladins with this book, but I can see running an arcane spellcaster with it. For bards, I would recommend checking out the Book of Eldritch Might 2 by Malhavoc Press.

That said, it looks like it makes wizards/sorcerers the way that I wish they were in the first place. It makes them cool. No more memorizing your spells. Instead you get spell points (a lot like psionic power points). In such a campaign you could drop the divine and psionic powers altogether.

After I get used to the system I plan to come up with a few more spell lists (i.e. when I notice that I want a given spell effect).

This book makes me excited to play a mage again!

Three Arrows for the King: The Archer's Guide (Revised)

I like to play archers, and I really like this book! I am going to add the Archer class to the available core classes in my campaigns.

There is one addition that is also interesting; you can choose a background, and gain special benefits and disadvantages for doing so. It is reminiscent of the old "kits" from second edition, but that was what I liked about them.

The Book of Distinctions & Drawbacks

The GURPS player in me likes that you can now have a disadvantage or two, and get a little compensation in return. It adds for more character customization, and makes even the "same" characters be a little different.

Even if you can't find any advantages to your liking, the opportuniy to get an extra feat is appealing (for the price of two disadvantages, or one major one).
