The list of content is a bit misleading, which I found very frustrating.
I picked this up with limited prep time after finding out a key player would not be able to attend a session. I was initially very excited by the premise, however there's simply not enough information in the book to run it as an adventure. The included content is comparable to something you would find as a suggestion for a one shot. The most frustrating parts were the maps, and the monsters (the focal point of the "adventure")
The maps include no follow-up, and it's incredibly frustrating. Every included map is honestly something you could grab from Donjon in 20 seconds. They're labeled with room numbers and no description or indication of what exists in any of the rooms. In the first adventure, the author writes that the mind flayer is able to teleport between a nodes within the sewers, however the nodes are not labeled and there's no indication of where they should be. All of these add together to create what is basically a list of suggestions on how you could create a one shot using the existing themes.
The encounters also don't seem to have any thought of balance to them. The map laid out for the first adventure is incredibly claustrophobic, which means even a party of 5 characters will be stepping on each others toes, and there is very little in the way of decision making on the part of the party. The Mindflayer is suggested to try to isolate weak party members, however the method given to do this has no options to counter it unless someone happens to have disintegrate, and is effectively suggesting you just pick whoever is in the back of the marching order and kill them off.
Even the rough outlines of each hunt - despite lacking any actionable detail - are set up in such a way that creativity is heavily discouraged.
I will at least give that some of the ideas presented are creative. I appreciate the parallels drawn to pop-culture horror, and I won't discredit the amount of creativity required to put those ideas together. Regardless of that, the collection is half-finished and not appropriate to put up for sale.
